    摘要: A diagnostic analyzer includes a track, a light-blocking member, a motor, and an optical testing device. The track moves a reaction vessel held by the track. The light-blocking member is disposed adjacent to the track. The light-blocking member moves from a first position apart from the track to a second position closer to the track. When the light-blocking member is disposed in the first position a sample contained within the reaction vessel held by the track is exposed to light. When the light-blocking member is disposed in the second position the sample contained within the reaction vessel held by the track is blocked from exposure to the light. The motor moves the light-blocking member between the first and the second positions. The optical testing device is disposed adjacent to the track for optically testing the sample contained within the reaction vessel held by the track when the at least one light-blocking member is disposed in the second position.

    摘要: An indicator for enabling an analytical instrument to positively detect the presence of a vial in respective vial-receiving rack position regardless of whether the vial is oriented in a manner necessary for a code reader to read a code printed on the vial. Translation of a leaf spring upon insertion of a vial into a rack position causes a flag to obscure a code provided adjacent the rack position. An instrument into which the rack is installed interprets the failure of the code reader to detect this code as positive indication that a vial is disposed within the respective rack position.

    摘要: Introduced here are diagnostic systems that are able to autonomously move to a desired location within a healthcare environment. As such, a diagnostic system may allow an operator to conduct a biochemical test on site. A diagnostic system may include (i) a cartridge in which a patient sample can be deposited, (ii) a robotic cart in which the cartridge can be inserted for analysis, and (iii) a control platform that is responsible for managing movement of the robotic cart throughout its physical environment. In addition to having the components needed to analyze the sample deposited into the cartridge, the robotic cart could also include storage for “used” or “unused” cartridges. Thus, the robotic cart may not only be able to perform analysis of the sample on site, but the robotic cart may also be able to transport all of the supplies needed to obtain the sample to the operator.
