Abstract: In a quantitative determination device 100 for brominated flame-retardant compounds, a storage section 41 holds a relative response factor 411 representing a relationship of a measured intensity of a compared compound to that of a reference compound selected from target compounds. A standard-sample measurer 43 acquires the intensity of the reference compound by measuring a standard sample, using an analyzer 10, 20. A target-sample measurer 45 acquires the intensities of the reference and compared compounds by measuring a target sample, using the analyzer. A reference-compound quantity determiner 46 determines a quantitative value of the reference compound in the target sample. A compared-compound quantity determiner 47 determines a quantitative value of the compared compound based on the quantity of the reference compound in the standard sample, intensity of the reference compound acquired by the standard-sample measurer, intensity of the compared compound acquired by the target-sample measurer, and relative response factor of the compared compound.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a computer-implemented method for analyzing a product stream of a chemical reaction. The method includes withdrawing a portion of the product stream of the chemical reaction from a reactor, the portion of the product stream having a volume of less than about 200 μL. The method further includes mixing the portion of the product stream with a diluent to produce a sample and then transferring the sample to a liquid chromatography device. A measured chemical profile is then developed, via the liquid chromatography device, which can be used for process monitoring or real time decision making. In some embodiments, the method can include adjusting a reaction condition in the reactor based on differences between the measured chemical profile and a desired chemical profile.

Abstract: A liquid chromatograph is presented which enables automatic resolution of a liquid sending failure when the liquid sending failure caused by a liquid sending pump occurs, and execution of a new analysis with good reproducibility after the liquid sending failure is resolved. The liquid sending failure can be automatically resolved by a purging operation. A sample remaining in the analysis flow path is washed away by a non-injection analysis after the liquid sending failure is resolved, and a new analysis can be executed with good reproducibility.

Abstract: A chromatography system includes a gradient delay volume defined as an overall fluid volume between where gradient is proportioned until an inlet of a chromatography column, a pump pumping a flow of gradient; and at least one valve located downstream from the pump, the at least one valve having a plurality of ports including an inlet port that receives the flow of gradient from the pump and an outlet port through which the flow of gradient exits the at least one valve, the at least one valve having at least two positions. A first position of the at least two positions of the at least one valve increases the gradient delay volume of the chromatography system relative to when the at least one valve is in a second position.
