Abstract: A method for producing power and argon is provided by providing a residual gas stream, purifying the residual gas stream in a front-end purification unit to remove carbon dioxide, thereby forming a purified residual gas stream, and introducing the purified residual gas stream to a cold box, wherein the purified residual gas stream is cooled and expanded within the cold box to produce power and then fed to a distillation column system for separation therein, thereby forming an argon-enriched stream and optionally a nitrogen-enriched stream and/or an oxygen-enriched stream, wherein the residual gas stream is sourced from a retentate stream of a cold membrane having oxygen, nitrogen, carbon dioxide, and argon.

Abstract: The extrusion device of a solid film comprises a cell provided with an input opening of a material designed to form the solid film, and an output opening of the solid film from the cell. The device comprises a first heat exchanger for applying a first temperature to the output opening and a second heat exchanger for applying a second temperature in a first zone of the cell distinct from the output opening and a control circuit imposing first and second sets of first and second temperatures. The first set enables a volume of the material in solid phase to be formed. The second set enables a temperature gradient to be generated in the volume so as to generate a pressure forcing extrusion of the solid film via the output opening.

Abstract: An apparatus for condensing argon can include cold box, which is preferably sealed and largely maintenance free, where all instruments and valves requiring routine maintenance are to be located outside, a nitrogen separator disposed within the cold box, a heat exchanger disposed within the cold box, the heat exchanger is configured to condense a gaseous argon stream against a pressurized liquid nitrogen stream. The cold box is elevated as compared to an argon storage vessel, such that the condensed argon stream can flow to the argon storage vessel without the need for a pump.

Abstract: A method for producing a sterile cryogenic fluid is disclosed. A warm gas stream is sterilized by filtration and fed to a heat exchanger resulting in a cryogenic sterile fluid being formed. The waste gas stream from the heat exchanger is fed to a second filtration unit and the warm sterile waste gas stream is fed to a second heat exchanger to produce more cryogenic sterile fluid, resulting in a more efficient use of gases employed in the sterilization process.

Abstract: A compact desktop gas liquefaction system having a gas generator, a cooling unit having a Stirling, pulse-tube or Stirling-pulse-tube cooler, and an insulated container to receive the liquefied gas. The system may be used to produce liquid nitrogen, oxygen, argon, natural gas, or air. The insulated container can be quickly disengaged from the gas liquefaction system, thereby minimizing the risk associated with handling liquefied gases. This compact liquefier allows for on-demand and on-site cryogen generation. The system provides a condenser surrounded by an evacuated space for greater efficiency of operation in a limited space.
