摘要: A radial shaft seal includes a powder coating on a shaft and a sealing lip that lands on the powder coating. The powder coating is formed of a thermosetting resin and a filler material. The filler material has a melting point above the cure temperature of the thermosetting resin. The powder coating may be porous. The powder coating may be made up of dry powder particles adhered to one-another with spaces in between. The filler may be present in an amount between 15% and 35% within the individual particles. The powder coating is adapted to wear away at locations of maximum interference with the sealing lip while continuing to provide a durable seal. This wear behavior compensates for shaft wobble.

摘要: A device and method are taught for mounting an annular shaft seal between a bore and a shaft in which the shaft and bore may be subject to radial eccentricity. The device comprises an annular sealing case having a first end and a second end; a shaft sealing case having a first end and a second end; a flexible sealing linkage axially and sealingly connecting the second end of the annular sealing case to the first end of the shaft sealing case. The annular sealing case is shaped to receive a seal to seal against an interior surface of the bore, and the shaft sealing case is shaped to receive a seal to seal against an exterior surface of the shaft, and the flexible sealing linkage provides sealing between the annular sealing case and the shaft sealing case.

摘要: A seal assembly is for sealing a space between an inner surface of an outer member and an outer surface of a shaft within the outer member. The seal assembly includes an annular seal body having first and second axial ends, inner and outer circumferential surfaces, and a seal lip extending radially inwardly from the body and having an inner surface sealingly engageable with the shaft surface. The seal body is sized such that a clearance space is defined between the seal body outer surface and the outer member inner surface and a portion of the body inner surface is engageable with the shaft such that the body is radially displaceable within the clearance space when the shaft displaces radially. A retainer coupled with the outer member has a radial surface and a biasing member biases the seal body toward the retainer radial surface or a radial stop surface.

摘要: A seal assembly includes a body having a wall. The body includes a detent that is attached to the wall at a hinge. The detent is bendable about the hinge in a radial direction relative to a central axis. A locking pin is supported by a post extending from the body, and is axially moveable along the central axis, between an insertion position and a locking position. When in the insertion position, the locking pin is disengaged from the detent to allow the detent to bend about the hinge. When disposed in the locking position, the locking pin is engaged with the detent to prevent the detent from bending about the hinge. The post and/or the locking pin include a tactile feature to provide tactile feedback when the locking pin is moved between the insertion position and the locking position.

The first portion and/or the second portion may be coated with a low friction substance. The first portion may be coupled to a vane support and/or a BOAS, and the second portion may be coupled to a first OAS support. The first seal may enable a radial translation of the BOAS in response to an aircraft maneuver.

The arched portion forms a preloaded seal adapted to seal against the second surface when air pressure is exerted against a side of the base.

摘要: A valve for connecting an external tank to an aircraft has a valve body; and a seal assembly arranged, in use, to resiliently engage a seal surface on an aircraft. The seal assembly has a telescopic seal member extending from a proximal end within the valve body to a distal end. The telescopic seal member is constrained within the valve body so as to maintain axial alignment of the telescopic seal member and the valve body. The seal assembly may also have a seal carrier at the distal end of the telescopic seal member. The seal carrier may be pivotable relative to the telescopic seal member for alignment, in use, with the aircraft seal surface.

摘要: A sealing device that can mitigate stress concentration in a bellows part when a shaft deviates as it rotates. The sealing device 100 includes a fixed part 110 fixed to an inner circumference of a shaft hole in a housing 200, a thin bellows part 120 extending from the fixed part 110 toward a surface of the shaft 300 in a bellows shape, and a sealing part 130 provided on a radially inner side of the bellows part 120. The bellows part 120 includes, on one side thereof, circumferentially alternating ridges 121 extending radially from outside to inside and grooves 122 extending radially from outside to inside, and on the other side, grooves 123 and ridges 124 that are exact backsides of the ridges 121 and grooves 122 on the one side, respectively. The bellows part 120 is formed to have a substantially equal thickness t over an entire circumference thereof.

摘要: An energy saving seal seals between a bore and a shaft for separating an oil side from an air side of the seal. The seal includes an annular mounting portion having a bellows portion extending axially and radially inward from the mounting portion. An axial leg extends axially from the bellows portion toward the air side. A lay down sealing lip extends radially inward and axially toward the oil side from an end of the axial leg. The sealing lip includes a bead on an outer surface. A dust lip extends from the end of the axial leg in a direction opposite the lay down sealing lip. When the oil side is under a negative pressure, the axial leg flexes inward in response to the negative pressure and engages the bead to provide a self-contact feature that holds the lay down sealing lip in engagement with the shaft.
