    Abstract: A radial shaft seal for a shaft to be sealed operating at high rotational speeds and circumferential speeds in both rotational directions has a sealing lip with a first circumferential ring and a second circumferential ring. The first circumferential ring is resting seal-tightly against the shaft to be sealed and seals the medium side. At the side of the first circumferential ring facing the air side, there are first return elements that convey leakage medium back to the medium side. The second circumferential ring is provided at the side of the first circumferential ring facing the air side and second return elements are provided at its air side. The second return elements guide medium that has passed underneath the second circumferential ring back underneath the second circumferential ring to the medium side.

    Abstract: A rotary shaft sealing assembly having a rotatable shaft, a seal housing having a groove bore located radially outward of and facing the rotatable shaft, and a sealing element in sealing contact with the shaft and groove bore. The sealing element having seal body first and second ends and tangs extending axially from the seal body first end. A shelf member has an outer groove wall and a shelf defining an inner groove wall. The inner and outer groove walls providing axial support to the sealing element in certain conditions of assembly and operation. The seal housing or the shelf member providing restraints, with a portion of the restraints in circumferential alignment with the tangs and blocking rotation of the sealing element. The shelf, located radially between the shaft and the restraints, blocks and prevents loss of the restraints.

    Abstract: A sealing apparatus 1 includes a sealing apparatus body 2 and a slinger 3. The sealing apparatus body 2 includes an annular reinforcing ring 10 and an annular elastic body portion 20. The slinger 3 includes a flange portion 31 which is an annular portion extending toward an outer periphery side. The elastic body portion 20 includes an annular end-face lip 21 extending toward an inner side and contacting an outer side surface 31d of the flange portion 31. At least one shallow groove 33 is formed on the outer side surface 31d of the flange portion 31 of the slinger 3.

    Abstract: A sealing apparatus which seals an annular gap of a hole into which a shaft is to be inserted, includes a sealing apparatus body to be fitted into the hole, and a slinger to be attached to the shaft. The sealing apparatus body includes a reinforcing ring annular around an axis line, and an elastic body portion attached to the reinforcing ring and annular around the axis line. The slinger includes a flange portion extending toward an outer periphery side and annular around the axis line. The elastic body portion includes an end-face lip extending on one side in an axis line direction, contacting the flange portion from another side in the axis line direction, and annular around the axis line. At least one groove is formed on the other side of the flange portion, and a plurality of projections are formed side by side in a circumferential direction on an inner periphery surface of the end-face lip extending in a spiral manner in a rotation direction of the shaft from the other side to the one side and being formed on an inner periphery side of a slinger contact portion of the end-face lip.

    Abstract: A liquid sealing actuator system enables use in anon-contact or low-friction manner. The system includes: an inner shaft having a first end; a hollow outer shaft having a first end that receives the first end of the inner shaft; at least one sealing ring positioned adjacent an internal surface of the hollow outer shaft, wherein the at least one sealing ring has an outer diameter that is less than an inner diameter of the outer shaft, thereby defining an annular seal gap; a mass attached to a distal end of either the inner shaft or the outer shaft; and a pressure source that injects a pressurised fluid into the hollow outer shaft, thereby applying a pressure against both the first end of the inner shaft and the at least one sealing ring that assists in lifting the mass; wherein the system is at least partially immersed in an external liquid such that the at least one sealing ring is submerged in the external liquid and a head of the external liquid above the at least one sealing ring defines a backpressure in the annular seal gap that opposes the pressure applied by the pressure source.

    Abstract: The invention provides a sealing device sealing so as to prevent a sealed fluid in a machine inner side from leaking to a machine outer side between a housing and a rotating shaft which is inserted to a shaft hole provided in the housing. The sealing device has a seal flange which is installed to an outer periphery of the rotating shaft, and a seal lip which is installed to an inner periphery of the shaft hole of the housing and slidably comes into contact with the seal flange over an entire periphery. The sealing device includes a thread groove which exerts a fluid pumping action when the rotating shaft rotates. The thread groove is provided at a position which does not intersect a contact area where the seal lip slidably comes into contact with the seal flange over the entire periphery, thereby suppressing generation of static leakage.
