摘要: A ball joint having first and second articulated coupling parts having interconnected liquid ducts. The second coupling part is held pivotably by a spherical front end region between a shape-adapted joint socket on the first coupling part and a joint head on a holding element in the inner cavity of the second coupling part. The holding element interconnects the liquid ducts, and the second coupling part has, on its inner wall delimiting the inner cavity, an annular groove with a ring seal. A first annular shoulder is on the inner wall of the second coupling part, an annular insert part is insertable into the inner cavity of the second coupling part, and the insert part is spaced apart from the first annular shoulder such that the spacing between the first annular shoulder and the front edge of the insert part facing the first annular shoulder forms the annular groove.

摘要: Systems and methods for connecting misaligned pipe sections, where two sets of variably spaced bearings enable the transfer of evenly distributed pressure from a collar member to a coupling member. One embodiment comprises a misalignment coupling that includes first and second coupling members, a collar, and two sets of bearings. The collar is positioned around the second coupling member and has a flange for coupling to a flange of the first coupling member. The bearings are positioned in an annular space between the second coupling member and the collar. The two sets of bearings have variable spacing and are interleaved, with one set contacting the collar and one set contacting the second coupling member. When the flanges are secured to each other, contact pressure is transferred from the collar through the bearings to the second coupling member, thereby applying contact pressure between the first and second coupling members.

摘要: A ball and socket coupling is provided. The ball and socket coupling includes a ball body having a passage extending therethrough and a ball portion, and a socket body having a conduit extending therethrough and a ball receiving portion configured to receive the ball portion of the ball body. The ball and socket coupling also includes retaining structure disposed in the passage of the ball body and the conduit of the socket body, where the retaining structure is configured to operatively couple the ball body and the socket body together for permitting relative motion therebetween. The ball and socket coupling further includes motion limiting structure associated with the retaining structure and configured to limit relative motion between the ball body and the socket body to rotation about a single axis that is perpendicular to the direction of fluid flow through the ball and socket coupling.

摘要: A ball and socket-type swivel connector for use with second stage regulators used by scuba divers. The ball is made from a metal with good corrosion resistance. The ball is then held into a true position by two separate low friction bushings. The two bushings, “sandwich” the metal swivel ball with light assembly pressure. This is accomplished by machining or molding the same radius of the swivel ball into one side of each of the two low friction bushings. As system pressure increases, the ball is forced rearwards and the squeeze increases. No seawater can enter the swivel. No area exists for seawater to collect around the O-ring. The bushing occupies all of the available space except for the gap provided around the O-ring gland an area used to hold lubrication. The preferred embodiment uses a high grade stainless steel swivel ball, virgin Teflon bushing material and an internally lubricated low friction O-ring. A wiper ring boot, a ball and socket wiper that utilizes an outer boot as a wiper ring to keep sand and contamination out of the rotational mechanism of the comfort swivel.

摘要: A flexible pipe joint joins, in a bendable manner, a first pipe member provided with a partially spherical outer circumferential surface that protrudes outward in radial direction and a second pipe member provided with a partially spherical inner surface that can slide along the partially spherical outer circumferential surface. A sleeve made of a synthetic resin is inserted and fitted in a state of contact, bridging the inner circumferential surfaces of the two pipe members. The sleeve has a length that covers a cavity portion that opens inward in radial direction at a location where the two pipe members are joined together, and is elastically deformed substantially maintaining its circular tube shape when following a flexure of the two pipe members. The flexible pipe joint effectively suppresses impediments to the flow volume such as the deposition of sludge and grime while ensuring the intended bendability due to relative sliding of a partially spherical outer circumferential surface of a first pipe member and a partially spherical inner circumferential surface of a second pipe member.

Teh device comprises a flanged coupling device with a static ball-and socket joint comprising a first coupling member (1) having a conical sealing surface (8), a second coupling member (3) having concave sealing surface (10) of spherical shape, a two-barrier metal gasket (2) disposed between the sealing surface (8, 10) of the first and second coupling members (1, 3), and assembly means (4) for assembling the first and second coupling members (1, 3) together so as to hold the gasket (2) between their respective sealing surfaces (8, 10). The metal gasket (2) is made of a refractory granular nickel alloy that withstands hydrogen, having uniform fine grain structure with isotropic properties and coated in three sealing layers, the first layer (27) being of nickel, the second layers (28) being of silver, and the third layer (29) being an antifriction lubricant of an inorganic material that is compatible with the fluid used.
