    摘要: An assembly comprises a circular panel; an annular body; and an elastomer ring. The annular body has a panel seat surrounded by a lateral surface having a ring shaped outer groove bounded in a first axial direction by a first outer shoulder and bounded in an opposing, second axial direction by a second outer shoulder. Adjoining the first outer shoulder is a guide surface having a radius monotonically increasing with separation from the first shoulder. The circular panel has an outer lateral surface having a peripheral inner groove extending radially inwards. The two inner shoulders have a convex contour in which the rotational axis of the circular panel extends. The elastomer ring is clamped between both inner shoulders and both outer shoulders, whereby a shifting of the circular panel out of the annular body is prevented up to a limit loading.

    摘要: A gasket retainer that is absent sharp corners, has apertures of reasonable dimensional tolerance, and may be conveniently made by a variety of manufacturing processes. The retainer is made from thin flat springy material that readily returns to form after slight bending. Representative gasket capturing apertures are of smoothly non-convex outline with major dimension sufficiently large to allow passage of a ring shaped gasket turned on edge and minor dimension sufficiently small to engage, on approximately opposite circular segments that each engage along less than one third of a gasket circumference, a cavity or groove on the outside diameter periphery of the gasket turned flat parallel to the retainer material sheet. Fasteners may be retained by similar apertures.

    摘要: In one example, a hygienic fitting assembly is disclosed. The hygienic fitting assembly includes a first fitting member defining an exterior opening, an interior opening, and a passage extending therebetween. The hygienic fitting assembly further includes a second fitting member receivable by the first fitting member with the first and second fitting members configured for removable mechanical attachment with one another along an interface region within the passage. The hygienic fitting assembly further includes a seal formed from a compression controlled and self-lubricating material. The seal is configured to receive an annular feature of one of the first or second fitting members and define sanitary fitting connection therebetween. The sanitary fitting connection is operable to prevent fluid escape toward the interface region during flow of a product between the first and second fitting members.

    摘要: Gasket seals for high pressure applications include retaining elements with inner diameter seal elements that interlock with the retaining element to provide resistance to movement in both axial and radial directions between the retaining element and seal element. High pressure sealing may be accomplished using a metallic core retaining element to which an electrically isolating material is bonded on either or both sides. Sealing is achieved through an inner diameter dielectric sealing element, such as a polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) inner diameter sealing ring. Flanges of a joint in a fluid flow ling may be bolted together with the gasket seal interposed therebetween. In the event of pressure changes, the inner diameter seal resists being drawn into the flow line, and resists axial movement relative to the retaining element, through dual locking members that secure the seal to the retaining element.

    摘要: A seal assembly includes a body having a wall. The body includes a detent that is attached to the wall at a hinge. The detent is bendable about the hinge in a radial direction relative to a central axis. A locking pin is supported by a post extending from the body, and is axially moveable along the central axis, between an insertion position and a locking position. When in the insertion position, the locking pin is disengaged from the detent to allow the detent to bend about the hinge. When disposed in the locking position, the locking pin is engaged with the detent to prevent the detent from bending about the hinge. The post and/or the locking pin include a tactile feature to provide tactile feedback when the locking pin is moved between the insertion position and the locking position.
