The combined hydraulic motor and brake also includes a brake for resisting relative rotation between the rotatable housing and the stationary housing, and a piston that is hydraulically actuated to release the brake. The piston is carried with the rotatable housing such that the piston, the rotatable housing and at least a portion of the drive shaft assembly are configured to rotate as a unit.

    摘要: A tachometer for a downhole motor includes: a tubular housing having a coupling for connection to a housing of the motor; and a probe. The probe: has a coupling for connection to a rotor of the motor, is movable relative to the tachometer housing, and has at least a portion disposed in a bore of the tachometer housing. The tachometer further includes electronics disposed in the tachometer housing and including: a battery; one or more proximity sensors for tracking an orbit of the probe; and a programmable logic controller (PLC). The PLC is operable: to receive the tracked orbit, and at least one of: to determine an angular speed of the probe using the tracked orbit, and to forecast a remaining lifespan of the motor using the tracked orbit.

Each gear tooth profile of the rotor has a modified recess provided symmetrically on both sides; the starting point (A) of the modified recess on one side of the gear tooth profile is located between a first point and a second point determined by locations of two limit positions, the end point (B) of the modified recess on the same side of the gear tooth profile is located between a third point and a fourth point determined by locations of two limit positions. By adopting the present disclosure, the internal leakage formed between high and low pressure chambers is effectively avoided, thereby significantly improving the volume efficiency and mechanical efficiency. Meanwhile, the present disclosure is extremely simple in structure and can be molded by one-time grinding with better manufacturability.

    摘要: Methods for controlling the net-displacement of a rotary fluid pressure device are disclosed. One of the net-displacement control methods (47) includes obtaining a desired input parameter (23) and a relative position (21) of a first member (43) and a second member (35) of a fluid displacement mechanism. A determination of a first and second output value is then made for each of a plurality of volume chambers (45) when the volume chambers (45) are supplied with fluid at fluid inlet and fluid outlet conditions, respectively. A total output value is then computed for each of a plurality of control valve configurations (63) and compared to the desired input parameter (23). The control valve configuration (63) with the total output value most similar to the desired input parameter (23) is then selected. A plurality of control valves (15) are then actuated in accordance with the selected control valve configuration (63).

    摘要: Downhole motors include a stator, which may be formed from a steel material and comprise a bore. At least one surface of the stator may be treated with a surface treatment. The surface treatment includes a nitrided region comprising nitrogen diffused into the steel material and a ceramic material adjacent to the nitrided region; the ceramic material defining an interior surface of the stator defining the bore. Methods of making downhole motors may include exposing a stator to an elevated temperature to heat the stator in a nitrogen-rich environment. Nitrogen may be diffused into a steel material of the stator and a nitrided region may be formed at one or more surfaces of the stator. The stator may be cooled. The stator may be removed from the nitrogen-rich environment. A ceramic material may be coated on the nitrided region of the stator.

    摘要: A hydraulic motor having a cooling system includes a stator, a rotor that rotates and orbits in the stator, a drive link connected to the rotor, and a housing connected with the stator. The housing includes a working fluid inlet port, a working fluid outlet port, a cooling fluid inlet port, and a cooling fluid outlet port. Each port extends through the housing and is configured to connect with a different associated external fluid line. Pressurized fluid enters the working fluid inlet port to rotate and orbit the rotor en route to the working fluid outlet port. The cooling fluid ports are isolated from the working fluid inlet port and the working fluid outlet port within the housing.
