摘要: A vehicle and a method of reducing sound produced by a liquid fluid pump are disclosed. A pump is activated when a predetermined event is detected. A control valve of the pump is operated in one of an initial and a standard mode when the pump is activated. The control valve is operable to allow a gaseous fluid to vent out of the pump when in the initial mode corresponding to the pump being in a first phase. The control valve is operable to allow a liquid fluid to move through the pump when in the standard mode corresponding to the pump being in a second phase. A solenoid of the control valve is energized and de-energized, at a calibrated frequency, in a sequence when in the initial mode to reduce the sound in the pump during the initial mode.

摘要: A fuel system is provided for supplying pressurized fuel, in particular dimethyl ether (DME) or a blend thereof, to an internal combustion engine. The fuel system includes a fuel pump, which has a pumping mechanism arranged partly in a housing containing lube oil, a drain line connected to the housing and suitable for draining at least fuel vapor from an interior of the housing, a lube oil supply line connected to the housing, a lube oil supply valve installed in the lube oil supply line, a seal installed between the pumping mechanism and the housing for preventing at least lube oil leakage to the outside of the housing, and a drain valve installed in the drain line, wherein both the drain valve and lube oil supply valve are controlled to be closed during an engine non-running state for preventing fuel vapor leakage from the housing.

The method may include decreasing a pump chamber pressure, passively opening a metering valve coupled to a pump chamber in response to the decreasing, and while the metering valve is open, generating a rotational output via a motor, transferring the rotational output into an actuation force applied to the metering valve via a metering valve actuation device, and inhibiting the metering valve from closing via sustaining application of the actuation force.

摘要: A control method and system of a fuel pump for a vehicle are provided and include determining, by a controller, whether an accelerator pedal signal is rapidly increased and comparing, by a controller, a current control quantity of the fuel pump with a predetermined reference control quantity in response to determining that the accelerator pedal signal is rapidly increased. In addition, the controller is configured to set the control quantity of the fuel pump as a predetermined jump control quantity when the current control quantity is less than the predetermined reference control quantity.

摘要: An automobile fuel system pressurization apparatus includes an inflatable bladder having a proximal end, a distal end, an exterior surface, and an inlet accessing an interior. The inflatable bladder being deformable between an expanded state and a deflated state. In the expanded state, the exterior surface of the inflatable bladder is configured to provide an air-tight seal in a filler neck of a fuel tank. A pump is coupled to the inlet of the inflatable bladder and is configured to supply air pressure to the interior of the inflatable bladder. A pressure relief valve is disposed at the distal end of the inflatable bladder and is in fluid communication with the interior of the inflatable bladder. When the inflatable bladder is in the expanded state, the pressure relief valve is configured to release a portion of the air pressure from the interior of the inflatable bladder into the fuel tank.

摘要: The present invention relates to a method of operating an internal combustion engine. With reference to FIG. 1, fuel is supplied to charge air using an injector (116) which in each operation delivers a set amount of fuel. The amount of fuel supplied to the charge air in each engine cycle is controlled by how many times the injector (116) operates in each cycle. A desired fuel demand is calculated as a number of operations of the injector per cycle, calculated to at least one decimal place. The desired fuel demand is rounded to a near integer to provide an output fuel demand for the injector as a number of operations of the injector for the next operating cycle in varying operating conditions of the engine. In steady state operating conditions of the engine an aggregate number of operations for a plurality of engine cycles is calculated which is closer to an aggregated desired fuel demand for the plurality of cycles than if for each cycle of the plurality of output cycles the output fuel demand is calculated independently.

摘要: A micro-pulsation metering fuel injection system, comprising a throttle body and at least one injection unit. The throttle body is mounted in an inlet pipe of a cylinder of an internal combustion engine for controlling a quantity of flow of air into a combustion chamber. The injection units are mounted on the throttle body and have each a plurality of micropumps. The micropumps suck in fuel and inject tiny droplets of fuel into an air inlet inside the throttle body, so that the droplets of fuel mix with air in the throttle body, creating a mixture, which enters the combustion chamber of the cylinder. A control unit senses operating parameters of the engine and drives the injection units via a driver unit. This allows precisely to control the quantity of injected fuel and flexibly to control the distributing fuel spray, resulting in higher fuel efficiency and lore exhaust emission.
