摘要: Methods and compositions are detailed for increasing bio-products in cyanobacteria where the cyanobacteria is incubated in the presence of non-lethal amounts of antibiotic. Non-lethal doses of antibiotic weaken the cell membrane facilitating migration of fatty acids from the cell, reducing inhibition feedback, leading to an increase in bio-products.

摘要: Disclosed herein are probiotic bacterial strains or species that produce short chain fatty acids (SCFA), such as butyrate, and compositions comprising the same. The bacterial strains or compositions prepared thereby are used in preparing food, supplements, compositions, and other consumables to provide health benefits, including therapeutic applications, for a variety of disorders, including metabolic, immune, intestinal, and inflammatory disorders. Thus, also disclosed herein are methods of treating a subject suffering from a disorder, such as a metabolic disorder, an immune disorder, an intestinal disorder, or an inflammatory disorder with a composition comprising the probiotic bacterial strains or species disclosed herein. Uses of a bacterial strain or species and a composition comprising them provided in a nutritional product or medicament to improve health or prevent or treat a variety of disorders in a subject are also disclosed.

摘要: The present invention relates to: recombinant microorganisms expressing lipoxygenase; and recombinant microorganisms co-expressing lipoxygenase and Chlorella-derived decarboxylase. It was confirmed that when using lipoxygenase-based recombinant microorganisms according to the present invention as whole-cell biocatalysts, hydroxy fatty acids can be produced from unsaturated fatty acids. In addition, it was confirmed that when using the recombinant microorganisms co-expressing lipoxygenase and Chlorella-derived decarboxylase as whole-cell biocatalysts, secondary fatty alcohols can be produced from unsaturated fatty acids. Thus, the recombinant microorganisms constructed in the present invention can be used in various ways in the field of hydroxy fatty acid and secondary fatty alcohol production.

摘要: The invention provides a Saccharomyces cerevisiae strain for producing a human milk lipid substitute. By integrating a heterologous lysophosphatidic acid acyltransferase into Saccharomyces cerevisiae and knocking out its own natural lysophosphatidic acid acyltransferase, the content of palmitic acid (C16:0) at Sn-2 position of triacylglycerol produced by Saccharomyces cerevisiae is increased, to synthesize a human milk lipid substitute. On this basis, a metabolic pathway related gene is knocked out, to further increase the content of human milk lipid substitute in the product. In the present invention, a human milk lipid substitute is de novo synthesized by Saccharomyces cerevisiae for the first time, in which the total fatty acid is 15% or more, and the relative content of C16:0 at Sn-2 position reaches about 60%.

摘要: Provided herein are methods of culturing a microorganism. The method includes providing a container comprising one or more microorganisms and medium, wherein the microorganisms and medium form a start volume. The microorganisms and medium are cultured until the culture reaches a threshold indicator, wherein culturing comprises feeding one or more carbon sources to the culture and wherein the culture is at a threshold volume when the threshold indicator is reached. The method also includes harvesting a portion of the threshold volume to leave a residual volume that is 40% or less of the start volume and adding fresh medium to the container in an amount to return the volume of the culture to the start volume.

摘要: The invention provides a genetically modified eukaryotic microorganism for anaerobic production of essential amino acids and optionally the co-production of one or more co-products. The microorganism is genetically modified to redirect carbon flow from PEP via oxaloacetate and asparatate semialdehyde, towards the synthesis of increased amounts of essential amino acids. The microorganism may be genetically modified to produce increased amounts of one or more co-product by enhancing carbon flow from PEP via pyruvate, acetyl CoA and malonyl CoA to produce alcohols and lipids, such as triglycerides, fatty esters, fatty alcohols, fatty aldehydes, fatty amides. The invention provides a method for anaerobic production of essential amino acids using the genetically modified eukaryotic microorganism and optionally co-production of said one or more co-products. The genetically modified eukaryotic microorganism may be used for the anaerobic production of essential amino acids and optionally the co-production of said one or more co-products.

摘要: Improved processes and systems for recovering products from a corn fermentation mash. In some examples, a process recovers an oil product, a protein meal product, and a fiber product from a slurry. A process includes the following steps: introducing the slurry into a device with a flexible screen and mechanical agitation to produce a filtrate and a fibrous solid stream; and introducing the filtrate into a three-phase centrifuge to produce an oil stream, a high protein solids stream, and a water with solubles stream. The flexible screen includes a washing nozzle. The slurry is whole stillage from an ethanol process. The three-phase centrifuge is a three-phase decanter. The filtrate is heated before introducing into the three-phase centrifuge. The filtrate is optionally evaporated before introducing into the three-phase centrifuge.
