Abstract: A vehicle includes a chain tensioner that serves as an oil damper using oil supplied from an oil pump. The vehicle includes a controller that controls a traveling mode of the vehicle in a BEV mode or a non-BEV mode. When shifting the traveling mode from the BEV mode to the non-BEV mode, the controller executes a high-pressure process for controlling the oil pump such that a supply pressure of oil supplied to the chain tensioner becomes higher when a duration of the BEV mode is greater than or equal to a specified time than when the BEV mode duration is less than the specified time.

Abstract: A powertrain includes an internal combustion engine, an electric machine including a rotor, a geartrain including a pump drive mechanism, a first clutch and a second clutch and a variator for a continuously variable transmission (CVT). The internal combustion engine is rotatably coupled to the rotor of the electric machine by activation of a second clutch. The internal combustion engine is rotatably coupled to the variator by activation of first and second clutches. The rotor of the electric machine is rotatably coupled to the variator by activation of the first clutch, and the electric machine is operative in either a forward direction or a reverse direction. The geartrain is disposed to operate the pump drive mechanism to drive a fluidic pump in a first direction when the electric machine is operating in the forward direction and when the electric machine is operating in the reverse direction.

Abstract: A motor disconnect clutch is configured to be set to an engaged state when a hydraulic pressure that is supplied from a mechanical oil pump (MOP) is lower than a predetermined release hydraulic pressure, and be set to a released state when the hydraulic pressure that is supplied from the MOP is higher than or equal to the release hydraulic pressure. When the hydraulic pressure output from the MOP is likely to decrease to a hydraulic pressure lower than the release hydraulic pressure in an engine mode in which the vehicle travels by using power of the engine while the motor disconnect clutch is placed in the released state, an ECU executes synchronization control for synchronizing a rotation speed of a motor generator with a rotation speed of a rotary shaft.
