    Abstract: A drive device for a vehicle flap, includes a flap part assigned to a vehicle flap, a body part assigned to a vehicle body, a joint arrangement connecting the flap part and the body part in an articulated manner, a first actuator coupled to the joint arrangement for opening and closing the vehicle flap during conventional operation, a second actuator coupled to the joint arrangement for lifting the vehicle flap into a pedestrian protection position, a coupling device for coupling the first actuator and the second actuator, wherein the coupling device comprises a first lever and a second lever, wherein the first lever is assigned to the first actuator, and wherein the second lever is assigned to the second actuator. A reliable and compact drive device is provided in that during conventional operation, the first lever and the second lever are connected to one another in a rotationally fixed manner via a mechanical securing element.

    Abstract: A latch assembly for a hood of a vehicle including a first plate including an elongated slot extending in a horizontal direction (H), a second plate, a first member being mechanically connected to the second plate, the first member extending in a vertical direction (V) through the elongated slot, slidably connecting the first plate to the second plate, at least one deformable element, in a retracted position of the latch assembly, securing the first plate to the second plate in the horizontal direction (H), and the at least one deformable element being arranged to deform upon impact in the horizontal direction (H) allowing the first plate to slide relative to the second plate in the horizontal direction (H) to an extended position. The present disclosure further relates to a hood elevation system for a vehicle and a method for manufacturing a latch assembly for a hood of a vehicle.

    Abstract: An airbag device for pedestrian protection adapted to be mounted on a vicinity of the rear end of a vehicle hood. The airbag includes a transverse inflatable portion that covers a cowl of the vehicle generally entirely in the vehicle width direction when deployed, and an inlet port that is disposed in a front end region of the transverse inflatable portion to be coupled with an inflator. The airbag is stored in a housing in a folded-up configuration. The airbag is folded up through a front-rear contracting step that provides a front-rear contracted bag, i.e. a form of the airbag which has gone through the front-rear contracting step, and a transversely contracting step which folds the front-rear contracted bag with a crease at a vicinity of an outer end in a left and right direction of the inlet port. A transversely-contracted fold portion formed in the transversely contracting step and the inlet port are arranged in a stratified fashion.

    Abstract: A gas pressure actuator includes a launcher, a gas generator that is disposed at a first axial end of the launcher, a rocket part placed inside the launcher, an end pad and a sealing gasket respectively disposed at a second axial end of the launcher, and a gasket holder supporting the gasket. The rocket part includes a first portion disposed at a location corresponding to the first axial end and a second portion that has a diameter less than that of the first portion and that ranges from the first portion toward the second axial end. The end pad includes a position determination part that determines positioning of the rocket part and restricts the rocket part from being displaced in a direction away from the first axial end. The gasket holder may be pressed by the first portion when the rocket part protrudes from the launcher and plastically deformed.
