摘要: A rail vehicle is configured for extracting electrical energy from a power supply external to the vehicle and has at least one electrical energy storage unit. In a first operating mode, the rail vehicle travels by means of energy extracted from the power supply and without energy from the energy storage unit. In a second operating mode, the rail vehicle travels, at least in part, by means of energy from the energy storage unit and/or at reduced traction power in comparison to the first operating mode. The rail vehicle includes a controller set up for activating the first or the second operating mode, as a function of an upper consumption limit, which defines the permissible upper limit of the power that can be extracted from the power supply. The upper consumption limit is established in a variable manner so as to prevent power peaks in the power supply.

摘要: A charging system, configured to charge an electric vehicle, includes a plurality of movable energy storage devices and an operation center. Each movable energy storage device includes a carrier, a dynamic balancer disposed on the carrier, and an energy storage set including two flywheel energy storage modules disposed on the dynamic balancer and dynamically balanced relative to the carrier through the dynamic balancer. The operation center includes a charging station and a controller which is in communication connection with the movable energy storage devices. The controller is configured for instructing at least one movable energy storage device to move to the charging station for the charging station to charge the at least one energy storage set, or the controller is configured for instructing at least one movable energy storage device to move to the electric vehicle for the at least one energy storage set to charge the electric vehicle.

Power Gen-Sets with other electronic components create a powertrain platform that are power suppliers for replenishing dissipated power used for propulsion. The Power Gen-Sets are in communication via AI computing module and powered by a portable energy storage device that is arranged external of the vehicle that can be removed for replenishment and/or replacement.

The electric-vehicle charging facility comprises at least one fast-charging station, hooked up to the AC power supply system that is connected via a transfer point to the general power grid, and comprises at least one load-cycling-resistant energy-storage device having an energy-storage device control unit, whereby the load-cycling-resistant energy-storage device is connected via an AC/DC transformer to the AC power supply system the electric-vehicle charging facility in order to store energy drawn from the general power grid and in order to deliver electric energy to the AC power supply system of the electric-vehicle charging facility response to the demand.

The motor can be electrically coupled to an alternating current power source and can receive AC power from the power source. The flywheel can be coupled to a rotor external to the motor. The generator can be coupled to the flywheel and electrically coupled to a controller for supplying power to a load, such as an electric vehicle for charging one or more batteries of the vehicle.

摘要: An energy storage system for a substation on an electrical power network is provided. The energy storage system is coupled to receive and store electrical power. The stored electrical power may then be used to either charge vehicles or meeting the needs of other discretionary or interruptible loads with an electric propulsion, or to provide electrical power a feeder connected to essential service loads such as police stations, hospitals and traffic control. In one embodiment, the substation also utilizes the energy storage system in a peak shaving mode of operation.

摘要: An energy storage system having a first, gravity-based energy storage sub-system having at least one weight movable between a first upper position and a second lower position defining a vertical displacement and a second energy storage sub-system comprising a vessel for storage of a pressurized fuel gas has an electrical input/output connection with an external power system and at least one of: a fuel gas inlet for supply of a fuel gas to the energy storage system from an external fuel gas supply or network; and a fuel gas outlet for supply of a fuel gas from the energy storage system to an external fuel gas user or network, and/or has at least one of: a gas to power conversion arrangement for converting energy from fuel gas to electrical energy for storage in the first energy storage sub-system or export to an external power system via the electrical output connection; and a power to gas conversion arrangement for converting electrical energy to a fuel gas for storage in the second energy storage sub-system or export to an external fuel gas user or network via a fuel gas outlet, where a control system is configured to control cooperative or complimentary operation of the first and second energy storage sub-systems according to the requirements of the external power system and/or external fuel gas network or user. The system as defined enable energy storage (charge) and discharge of the system linked to an external power system such as an electricity grid to store energy using a gravity-based storage arrangement to make use of its rapid response time and rapid charge/discharge speed, while providing an enhanced capacity of energy storage.
