Abstract: An apparatus for monitoring the condition of a pneumatic tyre including a pressure sensor(s) to measure an internal pressure within the tyre. A speed sensor(s) measures a rotational speed of the tyre. A controller is configured to receive data from the pressure sensor and the speed sensor and output indications related to a condition of the tyre. The controller determines the output indications by tracking the internal pressure with respect to time during use of the tyre, identifying at least one change in internal tyre pressure in a time interval. The time interval is between a first reference time and a second reference time, the reference times corresponding to points at which the speed sensor indicates different rotational speeds of the tyre. The controller further monitors the pressure change as a function of rotational speed of the tyre to provide an indicator of tyre condition.

Abstract: An air pressure abnormality determination system determines whether an air pressure abnormality in which an air pressure of at least one of multiple front tires and multiple rear tires drops. The front tires are front wheels of a vehicle. The rear tires are rear wheels of the vehicle and of which outer diameter is different from an outer diameter of the front tires. A determination is made on whether the air pressure abnormality occurs using a corrected wheel speed obtained by correcting one of a front wheel speed that is a wheel speed of the front wheels and a rear wheel speed that is a wheel speed of the rear wheels based on the outer diameter of the front tires and the outer diameter of the rear tires and an uncorrected wheel speed that is the other of the front wheel speed and the rear wheel speed that is uncorrected.

Abstract: A method for reading pressure may include reading, by a first device, an acceleration of a pressure sensor, wherein the pressure sensor is encapsulated in a medium, and wherein the acceleration alters a reading of the pressure sensor and reading, by a second device, a pressure reading from the pressure sensor. If an output criteria is met, an adjusted pressure reading is produced. A system for reading pressure includes a first device coupled to the pressure sensor and configured to read an acceleration of the pressure sensor. A second device may be configured to read a pressure from the pressure sensor wherein, if an output criteria is met, to adjust the measured pressure of the pressure sensor, based on the measured acceleration, to produce an adjusted pressure reading. An output device is configured to receive an output of the second device and to output an output pressure reading.

Each tire sensor device provides a tire-specific subset of the timestamped tire acceleration values.
