摘要: A vehicle monitoring system includes a controller and one or more wheel-integrated monitoring devices that are each disposed between a wheel of a vehicle and a tire that is mounted to that wheel. The wheel-integrated monitoring device has multiple sensors, a transceiver, and a power unit. The sensors generate different measurements during each rotation of the wheel. The transceiver wirelessly transmits the different measurements to the controller. The power unit provides power to the sensors and the transceiver. The controller analyzes the measurements and generates alerts on a dashboard or console in response to the measurements revealing wheel alignment, tire tread, and/or other driving characteristics that differ from manufacturer specifications by more than a threshold amount or that present safety hazards to the driver.

摘要: A system for monitoring tire tread on a vehicle may include front wheels, rear wheels, a sensor network to determine rolling radius data associated with the front wheels and the rear wheels, processing circuitry which may include a memory unit and may be configured to receive the rolling radius data from the sensor network, and a user interface which may display information to an operator of the vehicle. The processing circuitry may be further configured to determine a rolling radius of the front wheels and the rear wheels, determine a difference in the rolling radius between the front wheels and the rear wheels, compare the difference in the rolling radius to a predetermined threshold value, and generate a notification via the user interface to indicate that a tire rotation may be recommended responsive to the difference in the rolling radius exceeding the predetermined threshold value.

摘要: A vehicular driving assist system includes a sensor disposed at a vehicle and operable to capture sensor data. An electronic control unit (ECU) includes electronic circuitry and associated software, and the electronic circuitry includes a data processor for processing sensor data captured by the sensor. The vehicular driving assist system, via processing at the data processor of sensor data captured by the sensor, detects a tread of a tire of the vehicle. The vehicular driving assist system determines a tread depth of the tread of the tire. The vehicular driving assist system, responsive to the determined tread depth being below a threshold tread depth, generates a worn tire signal to alert a driver of the vehicle that that the determined tread depth is below the threshold tread depth.

The method includes receiving first accelerometer measurements of a first accelerometer mounted on the vehicle's first wheel when the vehicle is moving during an interval of time, determining based on the first accelerometer measurements a first path followed by the first accelerometer when the vehicle is moving during the interval of time, receiving second accelerometer measurements of a second accelerometer mounted on a vehicle's second wheel when the vehicle is moving during the interval of time, determining, based on the second accelerometer measurements, a second path followed by the second accelerometer when the vehicle is moving during the interval of time, and determining based on a comparison of the first path with the second path that at least one of the vehicle's first wheel and the vehicle's second wheel is misaligned.

摘要: Methods, apparatuses, computer program products, systems for enhanced tracking of tire tread wear are disclosed. In a particular embodiment, a tire monitoring sensor (TMS) detects a tread wear reporting event, generates tread wear data including at least a rotational time period, and transmits the tread wear data to a vehicle control system (VCS). The rotational time period may be a measure of time the tire takes to complete a particular number of revolutions. The VCS receives, from the TMS, the tread wear data including at least the rotational time period, determines a current circumference of the tire based on at least the rotational time period, and determines a tread wear value based on at least the current circumference.
