Abstract: A vehicle includes: a driving wheel; at least one prime mover; a user interface that receives user's selection of a first traveling mode or a second traveling mode; and processing circuitry configured to control the prime mover in accordance with the selected traveling mode. When a selection disabling condition indicating a predetermined vehicle state is satisfied, the processing circuitry disables selection of the first traveling mode which is performed by the user's selection. When the selection disabling condition is satisfied while the vehicle is traveling in the first traveling mode, the processing circuitry continues the first traveling mode until a switching condition indicating a predetermined vehicle state is satisfied. When the selection disabling condition is satisfied while the vehicle is traveling in the first traveling mode, and the switching condition is satisfied, the processing circuitry switches the traveling mode to the second traveling mode regardless of the user's selection.

Abstract: An information display device includes a display unit configured to display information about an object such that the information about the object at least partially overlaps with forward view of a user, and a controller configured to control display of the display unit. The controller is configured to estimate or acquire a prospective moving direction of the object, acquire a sight-line frequency representing a frequency with which a sight-line of the user is directed to the object within a prescribed period, determine whether the sight-line frequency is equal to or more than a prescribed frequency threshold, and cause the display unit to display the prospective moving direction of the object at least on condition that the controller determines that the sight-line frequency is less than the frequency threshold.

Abstract: A first closed lane segment file including a first lane change histogram and a lane closure start point associated with a closed lane segment of a first lane of a road is received from a lane change data aggregation system at a lane change management system. The first lane change histogram includes a distribution of a plurality of lane change points received from vehicles that previously engaged in a lane change from the first lane to a second lane of the road in response to the closed lane segment. A lane change control point is determined based on the first lane change histogram at the lane change management system. A command is issued from the lane change management system to an ADS of the autonomous vehicle to initiate a lane change from the first lane to the second lane at the lane change control point.

Abstract: AVs can communicate with humans for operational behaviors of the AVs. An AV behavior may be detected and classified as an undesirable AV behavior that would cause a negative sentiment of a person based on information of the AV behavior, information of the person, or both. The person may be a passenger of the AV or a person outside the AV. A message including information of the AV behavior is generated. The message includes information that can improve the person's sentiment or improve the performance (e.g., safety, passenger comfort, etc.) of the AV. The message may include one or more options for the person to provide feedback on the AV behavior. The person's feedback can be used to improve a classification model used to classify the AV behavior. The message may also include an option for the person to modify a ride provided by the AV to the person.

Abstract: Various systems and methods are provided for determining a posture of an occupant of a vehicle. In one embodiment, a method comprises capturing images of an occupant in a vehicle via a vehicle camera, determining a current posture of the occupant and a recommended posture for the occupant based on the captured images and body measurements of the occupant, and outputting a guidance based on a difference between the current posture and the recommended posture. In this way, a comfort of the occupant may be increased by guiding the occupant toward a more ergonomic posture.

Abstract: There is provided a system for adapting parameters of a vehicle for reduction of likelihood of an adverse event, comprising: hardware processor(s) executing a code for: performing, for each respective driver of multiple drivers: obtaining an indication of a vehicle driven by the respective driver, obtaining an indication of a certain advanced driver assistance system (ADAS) selected from multiple ADAS for installation in the vehicle, obtaining an environmental profile indicative of a prediction of an environment in which the vehicle with installed ADAS is predicted for driving therein at a future time interval, defining a simulation model in which the vehicle with installed ADAS is driving according to the environment profile, computing a risk of an adverse event during the future time interval by executing the simulation model, and selecting parameter(s) of the vehicle for adaptation thereof according to a predicted likelihood of reducing the risk of the adverse event.
