摘要: A security device is disclosed, including: a substrate having opposing first and second surfaces; on the first surface of the substrate, a surface relief structure formed of one or more cured, at least semi-transparent material(s); and on the second surface of the substrate, a print layer. In at least a first region of the security device in at least part of which the substrate is transparent or translucent, the surface relief structure and the print layer are each defined in accordance with a common image and are in alignment with one another, the surface relief structure exhibiting a first set of feature(s) of the common image and the print layer exhibiting a second set of feature(s) of the common image. The common image is exhibited by the surface relief structure and the print layer in combination with one another and the surface relief structure provides tactility to the common image.

摘要: An image display element includes a display layer configured to display first to n-th (where n is an integer of 2 or more) images; a light-shielding pattern layer disposed opposite to the display layer and having alternately disposed light-shielding parts and light-transmitting parts, and a transparent layer disposed between the display layer and the light-shielding pattern layer. The display layer contains a coloring matter, where the coloring matter forms first to n-th images; each of the first to n-th images is divided in a discrete manner corresponding to the arrangement pattern of the light-transmitting parts; and an image visible through the light-shielding pattern layer changes depending on the angle from which the light-shielding pattern layer is viewed.

摘要: Disclosed herein is a method for forming a surface relief microstructure, including the steps of A) applying a curable composition to at least a portion of the frontside of the paper substrate, B) contacting at least a portion of the curable composition with surface relief microstructure, C) curing the composition by using at least one UV lamp which is arranged on the backside of the paper substrate, and D) depositing a metallic layer, and optionally a layer of a transparent high refractive index material, on at least a portion of the cured composition, wherein the UV lamp has an emission peak in a UV-A range of 320 nm to 400 nm and additionally in a near VIS range of 400 nm to 450 nm, the curable composition comprises a photoinitiator which absorbs in the UV-A range and also in the near VIS range.

摘要: A method of manufacturing an image array for an optical device, comprising: (a) generating a plurality of different mask images by, for each of at least two different images, the at least two images collectively including parts in at least two different colours: (a1) providing a pixelated version of the image comprising a plurality of image pixels, each image pixel exhibiting a uniform colour; (a2) for each image pixel of the pixelated image, creating a corresponding mask pixel based on the colour of the respective image pixel, each mask pixel comprising an arrangement of one or more mask regions and/or one or more void regions, different arrangements of the one or more mask regions and/or one or more void regions in different ones of the mask pixels defining different respective colours; (a3) arranging the mask pixels in accordance with the positions of their corresponding image pixels in the pixelated image to form a mask image; (b) interlacing the plurality of different mask images, by dividing each mask image into elongate image slices extending along a first direction, selecting a subset of image slices from each mask image, and arranging the selected image slices from all of the mask images to form an interlaced mask image in which the image slices from each respective mask image alternate with one another periodically along a second direction which is substantially orthogonal to the first direction; then, in any order or simultaneously: (c) forming a mask layer comprising a masking material which is patterned in accordance with the interlaced mask image; and (d) forming a colour layer comprising elongate strips of at least two different colours which alternate with one another periodically in the first direction, the elongate strips extending along the second direction; wherein the mask layer and the colour layer are arranged to overlap one another, whereby the void regions of the mask pixels in the mask layer reveal portions of the colour layer such that, in combination, the mask layer and the colour layer form a multi-coloured image array exhibiting versions of the at least two images interlaced with one another.

摘要: A process for manufacturing a security feature having a tactile pattern, said method including applying on a substrate a radiation-curable basecoat composition by a process selected from inkjet, offset, screen printing, flexo printing and rotogravure; at least partially or fully radiation-curing the radiation-curable basecoat composition so as to obtain a radiation-cured basecoat; applying on the radiation-cured basecoat a radiation-curable topcoat composition in a form of indicia by a process of screen printing, flexo printing or rotogravure; radiation-curing said radiation-curable topcoat composition so as to form a radiation-cured topcoat. The radiation-curable basecoat composition and/or the radiation-curable topcoat composition includes one or more machine readable feature substances independently selected from cholesteric liquid crystal pigments, luminescent compounds, infrared-absorbing compounds, magnetic compounds and mixtures thereof. The radiation-cured basecoat has a surface energy at least 15 mN/m less than the surface energy of the radiation-cured topcoat.

摘要: Printing with a single colorant a security feature imperceptible to the naked eye. For a digital security image having a first region formed by a first pattern of binary pixels and a second region formed by a different second pattern of binary pixels, the first and second patterns are printed with the single colorant. A darker one of the first and second printed patterns is determined. The security image is printed with the single colorant, the region corresponding to the darker printed pattern printed at a reduced gray level such that the printed first and second regions appear substantially indistinguishable to the naked eye.

摘要: Printing with a single colorant a security feature imperceptible to the naked eye.
