摘要: The present invention relates to Disclosed herein is a multilayer coating system being present on an optionally pre-coated substrate and including at least three coatings layers L1, L2 and L3 being different from one another, the first layer L1 applied on an optionally pre-coated substrate, the second layer L2 applied over L1, and the third top coating layer L3 applied over L2, where layer L1 is formed from a primer coating composition and layer L2 is formed from a basecoat composition different from the primer coating composition, where the primer coating composition is free of or essentially free of metal effect pigments. Further disclosed herein are a method of preparing the multilayer coating system, a kit-of-parts and a method of using the kit-of-parts for improving the LiDAR reflectivity, measured at an angle of incidence of 0°, and the flop index, of multilayer coating systems.

摘要: Disclosed are compositions that can be used in forming products with increased near infrared (IR) reflective capability. A composition can include IR reflective and/or IR transmissive non-white pigments and can be formed with suitable viscosity so as to successfully coat substrates, e.g., yarns, suitable for use in forming coverings for architectural openings, e.g., window coverings. Also disclosed are textile substrates coated with the compositions, including textile substrates coated with compositions that in dude abrasive, inorganic IR reflective dark pigments.

摘要: A method for increasing a detection distance of a surface of an object illuminated by near-IR electromagnetic radiation, including: (a) directing near-IR electromagnetic radiation from a near-IR electromagnetic radiation source towards an object at least partially coated with a near-IR reflective coating that increases a near-IR electromagnetic radiation detection distance by at least 15% as measured at a wavelength in a near-IR range as compared to the same object coated with a color matched coating which absorbs more of the same near-IR radiation, where the color matched coating has a ΔE color matched value of 1.5 or less when compared to the near-IR reflective coating; and (b) detecting reflected near-IR electromagnetic radiation reflected from the near-IR reflective coating. A system for detecting proximity of vehicles is also disclosed.

In one embodiment, the hydrophobic and/or oleophobic coating system comprises an anti-reflective coating applied to an ophthalmic lens, the anti-reflective coating comprising alternating layers of high and low index materials with an outer layer of silicon dioxide having exposed hydroxyl groups. A hydrophobic coating is applied to the anti-reflective coating, the hydrophobic coating comprising a silane with a hydrophobic group and fewer than three reactive groups capable of bonding to the exposed hydroxyl groups of the anti-reflective coating.

摘要: A method of forming a titania-coated inorganic particle comprising the steps of (a) stirring a mixture of a titania precursor such as a titanium alkoxide and an inorganic particle such as a hollow glass particles in an organic solvent such as an alcohol for more than 1 h to cause adsorption of the titania precursor on the surface of the inorganic particle; and (b) adding water dropwise to the mixture under stirring to convert the titania precursor to titania which then forms a coating on the inorganic particle. A method for forming a paint formulation, a titania-coated inorganic particle, a paint formulation comprising a titania-coated inorganic particle and use of a titania-coated inorganic particle in a paint formulation is also described.
