Abstract: A sensor for measuring a characteristic of a length of a pipeline, wherein the sensor comprises a sensor length arranged to extend helically along the pipeline length; and the sensor length extends parallel to a ridge extending radially from a layer of a wall of the pipeline length. A length of pipeline with an integrated sensor length may be constructed by bending a first strip of material into a helical form that comprises a first ridge; bending a second strip of material into a helical form, wherein the second strip of material comprises a second ridge; forming a tubular shape from the first and second strips of material, wherein the first strip of material at least partially surrounds the second strip of material, and the first ridge engages the second ridge; and wrapping a sensor length about the tubular shape.

Abstract: A flexible hose (10), for a vacuum cleaner, has a wall (12), an inner side (14) of which delimiting a cavity (16) for conveying media and at least one outer side (18) of which having a profiling (20) which has, in section, seen along a longitudinal axis (22) of the hose, elevations (24) and depressions (26). On the outer side of the wall, at least one electrically conductive track (28) is provided which extends around the wall and is in electrical contact with at least one electrically conductive thread (30) which electrically connects ends of the hose facing away from one another. The electrically conductive thread is fastened to the outer side in a manner extending substantially along the longitudinal axis of the hose and transverse to the electrically conductive track.

Abstract: A strip assembly helically windable to form a pipe is disclosed. The strip assembly includes a pair of joined elongate strips, each strip having a strip width and a strip height and each strip including: a base; at least one longitudinal rib upstanding from the base; a pair of spaced apart longitudinal parallel edges; and an angled joining end surface. Each joining end surface has a joining width, the joining width at least 5% greater than the strip width. Also each joining end surface has a joining height, the joining height at least 10% greater than the strip height. The additional joint area provided by the angled joining end surfaces provides a significantly stronger joint.

Abstract: A personal-care applicator comprising at least one stem having a longitudinal axis, a proximal end including a handle, and a distal end opposite to the proximal end, and at least a first plurality of bristles ultrasonically welded to the stem and outwardly extending therefrom according to a first pre-determined pattern, wherein the elongated stem and the at least first plurality of bristles comprise ultrasonically compatible materials, and wherein the bristles are ultrasonically bonded to the stem through a direct ultrasonic bond between a surface of the stem and a lengthwise portion of each of the bristles. Process comprises providing a stem strip, wrapping a continuous yarn around a moving endless band, juxtaposing the continuous stem strip with the band's edge, ultrasonically welding the yarn portions adjacent to the band's edge to the stem strip at a predetermined density, removing the stem strip having the yarn ultrasonically welded thereto from the endless band, and cutting the stem strip into a plurality of applicator components.

Abstract: A method to produce plastic tube. The material of the plastic tube is fed around a having a same diameter as the inside diameter of the tube. The material is fed as an uninterrupted material flow which, after having settled upon the core, goes forward following essentially the helical line in the side direction of the core inside a mold mounted on the core. The plastic tube is formed of the material ribbons and melted plastic material fed to the spaces between the ribbons. The round and rising sheet at the end of the mold directs the material flow to the side direction of the core and the head of the plastic tube gets welded and fixed to the starting tube that is used to draw the tube as the production process advances in the side direction of the core.

Abstract: A wound tube is made of profiled plastic strips, the profiling of which comprises at least the edge region. Abstract: The winding apparatus has a forming frame which goes inside an underground damaged pipe, and a rail which regulates the circumference track of a forming frame as the joint mechanism interlocks adjacent portions of a plastic strips.
