    摘要: A unique method imparts laser induced patterns and other designs on thin fabrics and leathers. The method uses a laser beam to slightly penetrate the surface of the product at a controlled specific speed. The laser beam is directed at the product either directly or through mirrors, shutters or lenses. The speed of the laser beam relative to the surface of the product is controlled within a predetermined range. Specific identification and control of this relative speed for a particular product are the keys to overcoming technical barriers which have prevented such use of lasers in the past. Preferably a computer is used to provide a signal to a drive mechanism to control the relative speed. The drive mechanism can control movement of the laser, the product, a mirror or a lens.

    摘要: A system for precision perforation of moving webs employing a pulsed, fixed focus laser beam wherein the laser pulses are automatically controlled in pulse repetition frequency and in pulse width to provide a desired preset web porosity. Closed loop circuitry responsive to web speed, sensed web porosity, and a porosity preset signal provides the precise system control needed to produce and maintain the preset porosity over a wide range of system variables. The illustrative embodiment described is particularly useful for perforating paper, film, and like materials where a high degree of product uniformity and porosity control is desired.

Selective and multiple wavelength processing are applied for increased coupling efficiency with the epoxy and carbon material components of the composite.

    摘要: A pulse laser beam of energy distribution having a plurality of peaks is generated (e.g. having a TEM.sub.01 mode or greater) and is directed onto an optical system. The system combines beam-condensing optical elements and multi-beam-splitting prism elements so that the peaks of energy distribution in the laser beam mode fall correspondingly on the cut surfaces of each of the multi-beam-splitting prism elements. Each of the condensing and splitting elements may either be of transmission or reflection type, and further they may be of separate or integral type. Fresnel lenses or meniscus lenses may be used as beam-condensing optical elements. As a result, a plurality of pulse laser beam-condensed spots are produced.
