摘要: An auto-adjusting pocket hole jig docking station including a housing and an adjustment mechanism. The adjustment mechanism carried by the housing and including a first rack and a second rack reciprocally movable between raised and lowered positions, relative the body. A double pinion gear is rotatably carried by the housing with a first gear in meshing engagement with the first rack and a second gear in meshing engagement with the second rack. The first gear and the second gear having a rotational ratio therebetween wherein movement of one of the first rack and the second rack moves the other of the first rack and the second rack a distance proportional to the rotational ratio.

摘要: A depth-indicating device for determining the depth of insertion of a surgical tool comprising a pair of spaced apart end caps, separated by a compressed spring, with the surgical tool passing through axial openings in both end caps, and firmly attached to one of the end caps, but free to slide through the opening in the other. A guide tube is attached to the second endcap, such that the surgical tool can be guided to its operating position on a body part. The second end cap and guide tube are attached to a location having a known position relative to the body part. A tracking marker is attached to the first end cap such that its longitudinal position can be tracked using a remote racking camera. Since the surgical tool is attached to the first end cap, the tool position is also tracked by the tracking system.

摘要: A drill assembly and method for reducing plunge of a drill bit upon breaking through a workpiece. The drill assembly contains a motor to advance and retract the drill bit, the motor is controlled by a control unit in a feedback loop to achieve a desired stiffness. The control unit determines when the drill bit breaks through the workpiece and stops or retracts the movement of the drill bit.

The jig comprises a base for supporting the work piece and a first template operatively coupled to the base and having a bolt-hole guide located along a first axis of the template, the bolt-hole guide having a diameter sized to receive a first drill bit. The jig also includes a second template operatively coupled to the base and having a barrel-nut hole guide located along a second axis of the template, perpendicular and intersecting the first axis. The barrel-nut hole guide has a diameter larger than the diameter of the bolt-hole guide and is sized to receive a second drill bit.

The invention further relates to an apparatus and method for cleaning a blind hole. The method for modifying a blind hole comprises: removing a blade screw located in the blind hole, inserting a drilling tool into the blind hole, fixing the drilling tool in a drill, recessing the blind hole by a predetermined depth, with a maximum diameter of the end section and of the hole bottom after recessing being smaller than or equal to a diameter of the end section prior to recessing and a transition from the end section to the hole bottom being round after recessing, removing the drilling tool and the drill, mounting the blade screw in the modified blind hole.

The power tool may include a first position sensor, a second position sensor, a third position sensor, and a controller. The first, second, and third position sensors may each generate a signal indicative of a distance between the respective position sensor and a workpiece. The controller may determine one or more angles of the power tool with respect to the workpiece based on the first, second, and third signal and present an indication as to whether the one or more angles are within a predetermined range. The controller may further obtain a depth measurement based on the first signal, the second signal, and the third signal and generate, based on the obtained depth measurement, one or more control signals that control operation of the power tool.
