Abstract: A vapor chamber includes a wick structure created by an additive selective laser sintering process. The wick structure includes a substrate, a first copper powder layer, a second copper powder layer, and a plurality of additional layers. The first copper powder layer is deposited across the substrate, wherein the first copper powder layer is subsequently selectively fused via a fusing instrument. The second copper powder layer is deposited across the first copper powder layer, wherein the second copper powder layer is subsequently selectively fused via the fusing instrument. Additionally, a plurality of additional copper powder layers are deposited wherein each additional layer is deposited on the previous layer, wherein each of the additional copper powder layers is selectively fused with a predetermined structure.

Abstract: An example three-dimensional (3D) printing kit includes a particulate build material, which includes from about 80 wt % to 100 wt % metal particles based on a total weight of the particulate build material. In some examples, the kit also includes a binder fluid, which includes water and a curable polyurethane adhesion promoter in an amount ranging from about 0.5 wt % to about 15 wt % based on a total weight of the binder fluid. The curable polyurethane adhesion promoter is formed from a polyisocyanate; an acrylate or methacrylate, the acrylate or methacrylate having at least one hydroxyl functional group and having an acrylate functional group or a methacrylate functional group; a carboxylic acid including one or two hydroxyl functional groups, an amount of the carboxylic acid ranging from 0 wt % to about 10 wt %; and a sulfonate or sulfonic acid having one or two hydroxyl functional groups or one or two amino functional groups.

Abstract: A blade for a gas turbine includes a removed portion space, and further includes an airfoil portion defining the removed portion space, the airfoil portion formed from a base material, and a replacement component formed to fill the removed portion space. The replacement component is formed from a material that includes 50%-80% base material, 0%-30% braze material, and 0%-8% aluminum. A braze joint is formed between the airfoil portion and the replacement component to attach the replacement component to the airfoil portion and fill the removed portion space.

Abstract: A manufacturing method for three-dimensional structure has a layer forming step of supplying a flowable composition containing a powder and an organic material to form a unit layer, an organic material removing step of performing a treatment of removing the organic material on the unit layer, and an energy applying step of applying energy to the unit layer after the organic material removing step to form a molten layer or sintered layer, wherein the layer forming step, the organic material removing step, and the energy applying step are repeated with respect to the molten layer or sintered layer in a stacking direction as appropriate.

Abstract: A binder component for a feedstock compound for use in a shaping and sintering process comprises b-i) 3 to 70% by volume of at least one first thermoplastic and/or wax-type material, and b-li) 30 to 97% by volume of at least one second thermoplastic and/or wax-type material, based on the total volume of the binder component. The first thermoplastic and/or wax-type material and the second thermoplastic and/or wax-type material differ in at least one property which property is selected from (1) solubility in a solvent, (2) degradability induced by heat and/or a reactant, and (3) volatility. The first thermoplastic and/or wax-type material is less soluble, less degradable or less volatile than the second thermoplastic and/or wax-type material. Tcross is below 120° C., wherein Tcross is the temperature at the intersection between the storage modulus G′ curve and the loss modulus G″ curve in a dynamic viscoelasticity measurement of the binder component. The feedstock compound containing the binder component and non-organic sinterable particles is used in an additive manufacturing process, an injection molding process, a pressing process or a casting process.

Abstract: Three-dimensional multi-layer composite structures prepared by additive manufacturing techniques, as well as methods of preparing the structures by additive manufacturing techniques, wherein a multi-layer structure has layers of at least two different thicknesses and a precision thickness are disclosed herein. In some embodiments, a method includes forming a coarse feedstock layer having a coarse feedstock layer thickness, solidifying a portion of the coarse feedstock layer to form a solidified coarse feedstock layer having a solidified coarse feedstock layer thickness, before or after forming the solidified coarse feedstock layer, forming at least one fine feedstock layer having a fine feedstock layer thickness that is less than the coarse feedstock layer thickness, and solidifying a portion of the at least one fine feedstock layer to form the at least one solidified fine feedstock layer having a solidified fine feedstock layer thickness that is less than the solidified coarse feedstock layer thickness.
