Abstract:
An electrically conductive plastic (ECP) material can be used to heat water in a reservoir of a respiratory humidifier to encourage heating and/or humidification of gases passing through the respiratory humidifier. The electrically conductive plastic material can at least in part overmould the base and/or walls of the chamber and/or the reservoir of the respiratory humidifier. The reservoir can also partially or fully be formed from the electrically conductive plastic material. Furthermore, the humidification system can be configured to create substantially equal or differential heating of water in the reservoir.
Abstract:
The ventilation pipe 60 having the openings at both the ceiling side and the bottom side is provided in the area where the rectification boards 50a to 50f are arranged, thereby nitrogen released from water (nitrogen released from water based on that gas dissolved in water is substituted by oxygen) can be moved to the ceiling side of the retainer body through the ventilation pipe 60. Thereby, nitrogen can be effectively exhausted from the exhaust opening 30a, thus it can be restrained that nitrogen is accumulated in the retainer body 10. Accordingly, it can be restrained that oxygen concentration (partial pressure) in the retainer body 10 decreases. Since oxygen quantity dissolved in water is increased, gas dissolved in water can be effectively substituted.

A dielectric assembly for generating ozone includes a positive electrode, a negative electrode, a dielectric for generating the ozone, and a knob adapted to extend outside of a housing into which the dielectric assembly is to be placed. A system is also provided for sanitizing and deodorizing water, food, surfaces and air including a microbiological reduction filter device having an input connected to a water supply, a venturi injector disposed within a housing and connected to an output of the microbiological reduction filter device which generates ozone and mixes the generated ozone with the water, and an electrode assembly comprising a plurality of electrodes, a dielectric for generating the ozone, and a knob extending outside of the housing. The dielectric in a first embodiment and the entire dielectric assembly in a second embodiment can be removed from the housing and replaced in its entirety by the knob.
Abstract:
Provided are electrokinetically-altered fluids (e.g., gas-enriched (e.g., oxygen-enriched) electrokinetic fluids) comprising an ionic aqueous solution of charge-stabilized oxygen-containing nanostructures in an amount sufficient to provide, upon contact with a cell, modulation of at least one of cellular membrane potential and cellular membrane conductivity. Further provided are the methods of making the electrokinetically-altered ionic aqueous fluid compositions. Particular aspects provide for regulating or modulating intracellular signal transduction associated by modulation of at least one of cellular membranes, membrane potential, membrane proteins such as membrane receptors, including but not limited to G-Protein Coupled Receptors (GPCR), and intercellular junctions (e.g., tight junctions, gap junctions, zona adherins and desmasomes). Other embodiments include particular methods of producing the electrokinetically-altered fluids. The electrokinetically-altered fluid compositions and methods of producing the fluid include electrokinetically-altered ionic aqueous fluids optionally in the form of solvated electrons stabilized with molecular oxygen.

Abstract:
A slag powder and cement production system capable of utilizing slag immediately after generation as a byproduct of a primary manufacturing process to recover thermal energy of slag concurrently with preparation of slag for cement in a powdered form to maximize energy recovery from primary manufacturing process and to minimize energy consumption to transform slag into a slag powder. Preferably the heat removed from the liquid slag as it solidifies is recovered for useful work, such as sustaining the primary manufacturing process or co-located cement production process and/or electric power production preferably through a supercritical CO2 thermodynamic cycle operating through a heat exchanger less transfer of thermal energy from the slag.
Abstract:
The method and an apparatus for improving the steam dryness of a steam injection boiler includes injecting wet saturated steam and gas into an oil layer together in a sealed way, after the dryness of the wet saturated steam at an outlet of the steam injection boiler is improved by a dryness raiser. The dryness raiser includes a combined spray head, a steam heating chamber, a combustion chamber, and a mixing chamber. The gas generated by the combustion chamber enters into the mixing chamber and is fully mixed with the steam from the steam injection boiler. The dryness of the wet saturated steam at the outlet of the steam injection boiler can be improved to 95%-100%, and the effects of improving steam enthalpy, replenishing stratum energy and enlarging the steam wave and size are realized, so as to heat up the oil layer more effectively, and improve heavy oil development.
