摘要: A coat protein of Junonia coenia densovirus (JcDNV) is used to deliver attached peptide insect toxin across the gut epithelium of a fall armyworm, Spodoptera frugiperda. A fusion protein comprising VP4 attached to an insect toxin via a peptide linker is developed. A composition comprising a JcDNV coat protein attached to an insect toxin via a peptide linker can be used for insect pest control.

摘要: The present disclosure relates to compositions and methods for inducing encystment of and/or stabilising ciliate cells. In particular, the present disclosure relates to polymers and polymeric solutions, including hydrocolloids, which may be used to induce encystment of trophont ciliate cells to form encysted ciliate cells and/or stabilise encysted cells. The present disclosure also relates to methods of infecting and/or colonising molluscs with the compositions and ciliates described herein.

摘要: Provided are compositions and methods for selectively reducing the amount of antibiotic resistant and/or virulent bacteria in a mixed bacteria population, or for reducing any other type of unwanted bacteria in a mixed bacteria population. The compositions and methods involve targeting bacteria that are differentiated from other members of the population by at least one unique clustered regularly interspaced short palindromic repeats (CRISPR) targeted DNA sequence. The compositions and methods can be readily adapted to target any bacteria or any bacteria plasmid, or both.

摘要: The present invention relates to a bio-control method for combating the propagation of phytopathogenic fungi or oomycetes on plants, comprising the application, to the soil and/or to the vegetative apparatus of plants that are infected or are capable of being infected by pathogenic endemic fungal or oomycete strains referred to as type A, of a composition comprising a mixture of at least two strains, referred to as type B, of the same species, said type B strains being non-pathogenic for said plant, sexually compatible with said pathogenic type A strains and characterized in that they exhibit: a) sexual reproduction, b) a sexual phase initiated in non-parasitic mode, c) reproduction according to a heterothallic mode, and d) the existence of special forms or divergent populations within the species, capable of producing, by crossing with the type A strains, descendants that are non-pathogenic or even sterile on said plant of interest, and characterized in that the mixture of non-pathogenic type B strains comprises strains of opposite mating-type signs.

摘要: The present invention relates to increasing and/or maintaining nitrogen content in soil by administration of granular or powdered nitrification inhibitors coated with urease inhibitors. In one embodiment, urease inhibitors are dispersed in an improved organo liquid delivery system at concentration levels of 50-90%. In another embodiment, urease inhibitors were applied in a non-aqueous, organo liquid delivery system coating solid nitrification inhibitors utilizing simple blending equipment at temperatures of 20°-70° C. Another embodiment discloses a dry, flowable additive containing a nitrification inhibitor coated with a urease inhibitor which can be administered directly to the soil, to a dry natural and/or a manmade fertilizer or to a liquid fertilizer which provides for the reduction of nitrogen loss from the soil.

摘要: Compositions and methods for application to plants are provided for a new strain of Bacillus licheniformis RTI184 having plant growth promoting activity. Compositions and extracts of Bacillus licheniformis strains that include newly identified Fengycin-like and Dehydroxyfengycin-like cyclic lipopeptides designated as “Fengycin MB-Cit” and “Dehydroxyfengycin MB-Cit”, respectively, are also provided. In particular aspects, compositions containing the Bacillus licheniformis strain RTI184 can be applied alone or in combination with chemical agents or other microbial agents to benefit plant growth.
