摘要: The described techniques relate to modifying a trajectory of a vehicle, such as an autonomous vehicle, based on an overlap area associated with an object in the environment. In examples, map data may be used, in part, to generate an initial trajectory for an autonomous vehicle to follow through an environment. In some cases, a yield trajectory may be generated based on detection of the object, and the autonomous vehicle may evaluate a cost function to determine whether to execute the yield or follow the initial trajectory. In a similar manner, the autonomous vehicle may determine a merge location of two lanes of a junction, and use the merge location to update extents of an overlap area to prevent the autonomous vehicle from blocking the junction and/or provide sufficient space to yield to the oncoming vehicle while merging.

摘要: Techniques for analyzing driving simulations and determining simulation stability metrics are discussed herein. Various techniques may include receiving a driving simulation and determining a number of perturbed simulations based on the driving simulation. The perturbed simulations may include, for example, one or more perturbed object attributes, perturbed simulation failure conditions, and/or perturbed behaviors of the vehicle system on which the simulation is executed. The perturbed simulations may be executed, and the results may be analyzed to determine a stability score associated with the driving simulation. Stability scores for driving simulations may be determined and maintained based on different simulation data perturbations received based on perturbation models, and the stability scores may be used in various implementations to generate simulation batteries for regression testing and for analyzing and routing simulation failures.

摘要: An active buckling system for a vehicle including a force generator. The active buckling system includes the force generator that at least partially weakens a frame associated with the vehicle. The active buckling system may induce a buckling of the frame during a collision. The active buckling system may further reduce a longitudinal frame compression distance between a front of the vehicle and a cabin, associated with absorbing an impact from the collision, at least in part due to the inducing of the buckling of the frame.

摘要: Techniques for correlating perception system errors with unwanted vehicle behavior. The techniques may include receiving log data associated with a vehicle traversing an environment. Based at least in part on the log data, an error associated with an output received from a perception component of the vehicle may be identified. The output of the perception component may be associated with a detection of an object in the environment. The techniques may also include determining that the error contributed to an unwanted behavior of the vehicle. In some examples, a simulation of a planner component of the vehicle may be ran using ground truth data to determine that the error contributed to the unwanted behavior. Based at least in part on the error contributing to the unwanted behavior, a parameter of the perception component may be updated to minimize the error and the unwanted behavior.

摘要: An impact is detected with a vehicle having a body comprising parts which are deformable in an impact, by a secondary impact detection system configured to detect an impact that may not trigger a primary impact detection system. The secondary impact detection system comprises a plurality of deformation sensors attached to the deformable parts and configured to detect bending of the deformable parts. One or more processors are configured to receive a plurality of respective outputs from the plurality of deformation sensors, process the respective outputs to increase sensitivity to short-term changes relative to long-term changes and generate an indication of an impact dependent on detecting a processed output meeting a predetermined criterion. Outputs associated with a group of neighboring flex sensors may be used to localize the impact, characterize the source of impact, and/or reduce a likelihood of a false positive associated with the detection.
