摘要: Techniques for charging a battery associated with a vehicle are discussed herein. A dense charging station for charging the battery may have lanes arranged in parallel, and each of the lanes may have sequential charging locations. A vehicle utilizing the charging station may position itself at the first available charging location, being receiving energy, and determine if a subsequent charging station becomes available in the lane, and then position itself at the subsequent charging location, once available. Multiple charging stations may be required to maintain a threshold power state for individual vehicles in a fleet of vehicles providing a service for a geographic region. A charging coordinator may determine when a battery of a vehicle does not satisfy a threshold power state and requires a recharge. Additionally, the charging coordinator may determine a candidate charging station from among multiple charging stations associated with the geographic region.

A power converter with a transformer that has a 22.5 degrees phase shift between current output by corresponding pairs of secondary windings can be utilized to convert power of a first level to power of a second level. The transformer can output power from 30 secondary windings. The power converter can output power with a total harmonic distortion of 5% and an efficiency of 96% or higher. Further, power can be output by a transmission coil and received by a receive coil in a device, such as a vehicle, to wirelessly charge the vehicle.

摘要: Wirelessly charging a vehicle battery may be performed using a plurality of charging coils. The offboard coils and the onboard coils may be spaced apart by different amounts, such that, when the vehicle is positioned in a vehicle charging space, at least one pair of an onboard coil and an offboard coil may still be substantially aligned for wireless charging, even when other coils are misaligned. The offboard coils may include sizes that are conducive to charge smaller capacity systems in some arrangements and are combinable to charge larger capacity systems in other arrangements. In addition, the use of relatively small coils may allow for flexibility in thermal management.

摘要: Wirelessly charging a vehicle battery may be performed using a plurality of charging coils. A passive thermal management solution may dissipate the thermal energy without requiring additional active components and without adding significant thermal loads to an existing thermal management system. In some examples, a passive heat exchanger may include a cold plate coupled to power electronics. In addition, the passive heat exchanger may include a condenser that is fluidly coupled to the cold plate and is positioned in an airflow path.
