    Abstract: An image sensor array includes image sensors having photo TFTs to generate photocurrent in response to received images. The photo TFTs each have their respective gate electrodes and source electrodes independently biased to reduce the effects of dark current. Storage capacitors are coupled to each photo TFT and discharged upon generation of a photocurrent. Each storage capacitor is coupled to a readout TFT that passes a current from the storage capacitor to a data line. The photo TFT may be disposed above the storage capacitor to increase the exposed surface area of the photo TFT.

    Abstract: Certain examples relate to improved methods for making patterned substantially transparent contact films, and contact films made by such methods. In certain cases, the contact films may be patterned and substantially planar. Thus, the contact films may be patterned without intentionally removing any material from the layers and/or film, such as may be required by photolithography. In certain example embodiments, an oxygen exchanging system comprising at least two layers may be deposited on a substrate, and the layers may be selectively exposed to heat and/or energy to facilitate the transfer of oxygen ions or atoms from the layer with a higher enthalpy of formation to a layer with a lower enthalpy of formation. In certain cases, the oxygen transfer may permit the conductivity of selective portions of the film to be changed. This advantageously may result in a planar contact film that is patterned with respect to conductivity and/or resistivity.

    Abstract: A coated article includes a temperable antireflection (AR) coating that utilizes medium and low index (index of refraction “n”) layers having compressive residual stress in the AR coating. In certain example embodiments, the coating may include the following layers from the glass substrate outwardly: silicon oxynitride (SiOxNy) medium index layer/high index layer/low index layer. In certain example embodiments, depending on the chemical and optical properties of the high index layer and the substrate, the medium and low index layers of the AR coating are selected to cause a net compressive residual stress and thus optimize the overall performance of the antireflection coating when the coated article is tempered and/or heat-treated.

    Abstract: A system comprising a stack of layers configured to display an image and including multiple elements configured to sense light. The system is configured to obtain a first reference image based on output from the multiple elements in a dark lighting condition associated with the system, and calibrate object detection based on output from the multiple elements using the obtained reference image. Additionally, a system comprising a display having a stack of layers configured to display an image and including a first and second set of elements. Each of the elements in the first set is configured to sense light, and each of the elements in the second set is configured to sense a dark current. The system is configured to perform object detection based on output from the elements in the first set, and calibrate the object detection based on output from the elements in the second set.
