摘要: A method for coordinating interaction between one or more computing devices for users participating in an interactive activity is provided. A reference point is identified on a physical surface via a primary computing device. The primary computing device may include a mobile computing device. The physical surface is utilized to render an interactive activity for one or more users. The reference point is communicated to one or more secondary computing devices, via the primary computing device. An interaction between the primary computing device and the secondary computing devices is coordinated utilizing the reference point. A user perspective image of the interactive game relative to the reference point is rendered on the physical surface via the primary computing device and the secondary computing devices to the users.

摘要: The subject application relates to a system(s) and/or methodology that facilitate vision-based projection of any image (still or moving) onto any surface. In particular, a front-projected computer vision-based interactive surface system is provided which uses a new commercially available projection technology to obtain a compact, self-contained form factor. The subject configuration addresses installation, calibration, and portability issues that are primary concerns in most vision-based table systems. The subject application also relates to determining whether an object is touching or hovering over an interactive surface based on an analysis of a shadow image.

摘要: The claimed subject matter relates to a display that is physically separable and to an associated architecture that can facilitate data mobility or collaboration in connection with the separable display. In particular, the separable display can be configured as an apparent unitary or singular UI for an associated multi-node computer, yet for which portion of the separable display can be physically decoupled. The multi-node computer can include a set of computing nodes, each of which can potentially operate autonomously, yet also in unison with other nodes to form a collective multiprocessor computing platform. Moreover, each of the computing nodes can be embedded in and distributed throughout the separable display. Accordingly, when a portion of the separable display is decoupled from a remainder of the separable display, both the portion and the remainder can include some subset of the computing nodes, and can therefore maintain the UI.

摘要: A novel hybrid pointing device combines elements of both a digital pen and a mouse, to collect the advantages of both types of devices in a single user input device. The hybrid input pointing device includes both a digital pen and a cradle. The cradle has a docking bay in which the digital pen can be docked, with an unobstructed path between the electromagnetic tracking signal receptor and a tracking surface on which the cradle is disposed. The electromagnetic signal receptor is enabled to receive tracking signals reflected off the tracking surface from an electromagnetic signal emitter. Information based on the reflected signal may be communicated to a computing device. A user can thereby use the digital pen in a pen-like user scenario, or dock the digital pen in the mouse-like cradle and use the combined device in a mouse-like user scenario.

摘要: A touch-sensitive device for use as an electronic input device for controlling by scrolling the visible portion of a document or image relative to a display. The device can include various improved configurations such as physically separate opposed input surfaces at opposite longitudinal ends and/or lateral sides. The end regions of a touch sensitive surface may be rounded and/or tapered to provide relative positional feedback to the user. Tactile positional feedback can also include surface texture changes on the scrolling area and/or changes in the surface of the frame in the region immediately adjacent the scrolling area. The touch sensitive areas may be provided within a split alphanumeric section of an ergonomic keyboard to enable scrolling without the user having to remove his or her hands from the alphanumeric section.

摘要: A method and system for electronically scrolling a document with a data processing apparatus uses an input device, e.g., a mouse, to permit position based scrolling without first accessing a scroll bar or other scrolling functionality element. In a page positional scrolling (PPS) mode useful for scrolling short distances, a displayed document is scrolled one pixel per one pixel of motion of the mouse. In a second mode (document positional scrolling—DPS), the document is scrolled a distance per pixel of mouse movement corresponding to the ratio of the document length (or width) to the page length (or width). In a further embodiment (smoothed document positional scrolling—SDPS), as the mouse is moved away from a starting position the system begins scrolling in PPS, transitions smoothly from PPS to DPS, and then continues to scroll in DPS.
