摘要: A method, a device, and a non-transitory storage medium are described in which a frequency and network slice selection service is provided. The service may configure network slices at a cell level which may include carrier frequencies or bands that may be ranked in terms of preference for a network slice. The service may provide frequency/band-network slice information to end devices via system information block and radio resource control messages. End devices may perform a cell search procedure and use other criteria to select and establish a network slice connection via a frequency/band of a network slice and in accordance with the service.

摘要: A method, a system, and a non-transitory storage medium provide for encoding a general packet radio service (GPRS)-tunnel endpoint identifier (GTP-TEID) with data identifying radio frequency (RF) bandwidths supported in a local radio environment (LRE) from which a user equipment (UE) device accesses the wireless access station; sending, via a signaling channel, the GTP-TEID to a core network device; notifying one or more core network devices of an RF bandwidth category level corresponding to the RF bandwidths; and applying at least one of a policy rule or a charging rule to a packet data unit (PDU) session for the UE device, based on the RF bandwidth category level.

The procedures may include using cause data and context data pertaining to the initial application session to re-establish the application session via a different network slice and a different radio frequency based on the route selection policies.

摘要: A system described herein may provide a technique for maintaining and transferring context information for a Dual Connectivity (“DC”)-capable User Equipment (“UE”) and a secondary Next Generation Node B (“gNB”) in situations where the UE is connected to a primary gNB and the secondary gNB and is handed over to an evolved Node B (“eNB”). The context information may be provided to the eNB without releasing resources or tearing down bearers at the secondary gNB, such that the UE may seamlessly continue communicating with the secondary gNB while a primary connection associated with the UE is handed over from the primary gNB to the eNB.

摘要: A network device determines radio frequency (RF) conditions at a first endpoint and a second endpoint of a call or session. The network device determines optimum first codec parameters for the determined RF conditions at the first endpoint of the call or session, and determines optimum second codec parameters for the determined RF conditions at the second endpoint of the call or session. The network device sends the first codec parameters to the first endpoint for altering operation of a first codec at a first device at the first endpoint. The network device sends the second codec parameters to the second endpoint for altering operation of a second codec at a second device at the second endpoint.

The service may also provide transport priority to the packets and slice-aware migration, as described herein.

摘要: An example method can include receiving, from a user equipment, single-network slice selection assistance information (S-NSSAI). The method can include determining a resource sharing configuration (RSC) associated with the S-NSSAI and determining whether the S-NSSAI is associated with a network slice instance (NSI) of the network. When the S-NSSAI is determined to be associated with a first NSI, the method can include mapping the S-NSSAI to the first NSI to permit the user equipment to communicate via the first NSI using a protocol data unit (PDU) session associated with the S-NSSAI. When the S-NSSAI is not determined to be associated with an NSI, the method can include forming a second NSI of the network according to the RSC associated with the S-NSSAI and mapping the S-NSSAI to the second NSI to permit the user equipment to communicate via the second NSI using a PDU session associated with the S-NSSAI.

摘要: A user device parses system information block data, received from a first cell, to identify an upper layer indicator element, and determines, based on the upper layer indicator element, that the user device is in an EN-DC area. The user device causes, based on determining that the user device is in the EN-DC area, first display of a first indicator on a display of the user device, and sends a request to the first cell for a data connection. The user device receives, from the first cell, a message that indicates a second cell will initiate the data connection via a 5G NR millimeter wave connection. The user device causes, based on the message, display of a second indicator on the display of the user device for a threshold amount of time, and then causes second display of the first indicator on the display of the user device.
