摘要: An integrated communication system comprises a first communication device connected to a second communication device using a data link. When the first communication device is out of network, a dispatch center can indicate to the use a communication is waiting or wanted by sending a communication request signal to the second communication device. The second communication device transmits the communication request signal to the first communication device over the data link alerting the user of the first communication device to the requested communication.

摘要: A system for monitoring and adjustment of control unit parameter settings of vehicle electronic control units. The monitoring system may be implemented in a vehicle in which are incorporated one or more electronic control units for regulating one more operational parameters of the vehicle in accordance with corresponding control unit parameter settings. In an exemplary implementation the vehicle is equipped with a mobile communications terminal (MCT), which receives from a base station a list of operational parameters to be monitored. Each of the electronic control units, as well as a memory unit, are connected to an internal data link of the vehicle. When a parameter value within the memory unit corresponding to a given control unit is changed, a message is provided to the base station specifying the value currently registered by the control unit. The currently registered value is then compared to an expected parameter value, and an error message is generated if disagreement exists therebetween. The system also allows vehicle control unit parameter settings to be adjusted from a remote location such as a base station. The MCT of each vehicle is disposed to generate message packets containing updated control unit parameter information received from the base station. The message packets are then sent to a selected electronic control unit over the data link, thereby allowing the updated control unit parameter information to be loaded therein.

摘要: Apparatus and methods for managing content, such as content captured by a mobile device, are provided. The apparatus and method include receiving a plurality of content, which includes tag information, e.g., date and location information and an identifier for the mobile device. In addition, the apparatus and methods may include automatically grouping the content based on the tag information, and automatically labeling the content based on the tag information. For example, determined groupings of the content may be placed into folders and labeled based upon the tag information.

摘要: Methods and apparatus for providing separable billing services. In one embodiment, an apparatus comprises a memory for storing a data address associated with a first type of communication and a processor for receiving a data packet, the data packet comprising a destination data address. The processor compares the destination data address to the data address associated with the first type of communication, and routes the data packet to the destination data address if the destination data address matches the data address associated with the first type of communication and bills an account associated with the first type of communication.

摘要: A system and method for describing local area geo-reference features and landmarks in providing high resolution asset location information. Geo-image data is integrated to a mapping application and geo-reference data to add more detailed scale levels to the map. The geo-image data includes geo-images and its features to provide more detailed references to the asset and support the larger references of the geo-reference data. To describe a geo-reference landmark, an original landmark representation is selected with a center point and a radius. The asset location points located at the original landmark representation are compiled along with the asset location points generated by events occurring at the landmark to create a point set. The point set replaces the original landmark representation when a prescribed number of points is reached. The asset location points that are within a specified distance from any of the points in the point set are added to the point set to complete the landmark representation. The geo-image data and landmark representation data are combined to provide high resolution asset location information.

摘要: A system for tracking and monitoring the intermodal status of cargo trailers. In addition to the information provided by a Global Positioning System (GPS) unit, the system monitors the status of various sensors on the trailer. The GPS unit provides the location and velocity of a trailer. A wheel monitoring unit provides the status of the wheels of the trailer, specifically whether there is rotation of the wheels or not. Anti-lock braking systems are used to provide signal information indicative of the wheel rotation status. An independent wheel rotation sensor is also used to provide the wheel rotation status. A computer processor determines the intermodal movement status of the trailer using the wheel rotation status and the location and velocity information.
