    摘要: The invention relates to an apparatus and a method for estimating a fading frequency of incoming received waves in a receiving station of a radio communication system or radio transmission system. An object of the invention is to estimate a fading frequency efficiently and accurately without substantially complexing the configuration of the system. To this end, the invention provides an apparatus for estimating a fading frequency from a pilot signal in a reception signal, which includes a calculation unit for calculating a magnitude of a complex product of two symbols that are received at different instants, and an estimation unit for estimating a fading frequency according to the calculated magnitude of the complex product.

    摘要: This invention relates to a demodulating apparatus and a demodulating method for demodulating an input signal more quickly than before when the channels of the input signal are inverted.A correlator 152 calculates a correlation value indicative of the correlation between a known delayed detection sequence made of symbols of correct delayed detection values of a known sequence inserted in the input signal and a received delayed detection sequence obtained through delay detection of the input signal. If the imaginary part of the correlation value is less than zero, a channel control section 132 switches the channels of the input signal before feeding the signal to a frame synchronization circuit 122. This invention can be applied illustratively to a satellite broadcast receiving apparatus.

The mobile station identifies the GI length based on the reported frame format and the slot number, removes the guard interval, and performs processing.

The frame synchronization apparatus includes a correlation-value computation section; an IQ component select section; and a synchronization-signal outputting section. The IQ component select selects a larger one of absolute values representing the amplitudes of I and Q. The synchronization-signal outputting section carries out a peak detection process to detect a peak in pieces of data arranged along a time axis to form a correlation-value series and output a frame synchronization signal for said input signal in accordance with a result of said peak detection process.
