Abstract: According to various embodiments, a method of controlling data communication of an electronic device, the method comprising performing the directional wireless communication together with an external electronic device capable of performing the directional wireless communication and the omni-directional wireless communication, by using the first wireless communication circuit, determining the distance between an electronic device and the external electronic device, at least partially on the basis of a signal of the external electronic device received by using the second wireless communication circuit, when the stop or degradation of the directional wireless communication is detected, and determining whether to reattempt the directional wireless communication using the first wireless communication circuit, at least partially on the basis of the determined distance or to start the omni-directional wireless communication using the second wireless communication circuit. Other embodiments are possible.

Abstract: An electronic device may include at least one wireless communication module configured to transmit and receive a wireless signal; a memory electrically configured to store instructions; and at least one processor operatively connected to the at least one wireless communication module and the memory, the at least one processor being configured to execute the instructions to: based on an attempt to connect to an access point (AP), identify whether a pairwise master key security association (PMKSA) for the AP, generated based on to a previous connection of the electronic device to the AP, is present, and based on identifying that the PMKSA is present, determine whether to reuse a pairwise master key (PMK) stored in the PMKSA by comparing a lifetime of the PMK with a margin time in which a use of the PMK is guaranteed.

Abstract: According to various embodiments, an electronic device may comprise a communication module, a memory, and a processor electrically connected with the communication module and the memory. The processor may be configured to perform a communication connection with a first access point (AP) of a first service set identification (SSID) and a first security type through the communication module, generate first roaming group information associated with the first AP, identify whether there is an AP having the first SSID and the first security type when roaming while performing the communication connection with the first AP through the communication module, and in response to being not identified the AP having the first SSID and the first security type, perform roaming from the first AP to a second AP which is identified based on the first roaming group information.

Abstract: An electronic device according to various embodiments comprises: at least one wireless communication circuit configured to transmit and receive wireless signals according to IEEE 802.11 standard; a processor operatively connected to the wireless communication circuit; and a memory operatively connected to the processor, wherein the memory can store instructions allowing, when executed, the processor to: receive a first request message for a tunneled direct link setup (TDLS) session defined by the IEEE 802.11 standard from a first access point (AP) through the wireless communication circuit; determine, on the basis of the first request message, that an external electronic device having requested the TDLS session is connected to a second AP; establish a connection to the second AP through the wireless communication circuit on the basis of the determination; transmit a second request message for the TDLS session to the second AP; and establish the TDLS session with the external electronic device through the second AP on the basis of the reception of a response message to the second request message from the external electronic device. Additional various embodiments are possible.

Abstract: The electronic device according to various embodiments comprises: a housing structure; a user interface located in the housing structure; a network interface that can be connected by wire or wirelessly; a wireless communication circuit configured to communicate with an external device by using frequencies between 10 GHz and 100 GHz; a processor located in the housing structure and operatively connected to the user interface, the network interface, and the wireless communication circuit; and a memory located in the housing structure and operatively connected to the processor. When the memory is running, the processor may: establish a first communication channel with a first external device by means of the wireless communication circuit; receive authentication information from the first external device by means of the first communication channel; receive data from the first external device by means of the first communication channel, while or after receiving the authentication information; store the received data in the memory at least temporarily; establish a second communication channel with a second external device by means of the network interface, by using the authentication information; and store commands for transmitting the stored data to the second external device by means of the second communication channel. Other embodiments are possible.

Abstract: Various embodiments of the present invention relate to an electronic device for controlling communications. The electronic device may comprise: a housing including a first side and a second side facing the first side; a touch screen display exposed through the first side; a wireless communication unit for generating a directional beam in order to establish a wireless communication channel with an external electronic device; a sensor mounted in the housing; at least one processor mounted in the housing and electrically coupled to the display, the wireless communication unit and the sensor; and a memory mounted in the housing and electrically coupled to the at least one processor. The memory according to the various embodiments of the present invention is, when executed, characterized in that the processor is configured to: perform a first direction search for determining the direction of the directional beam corresponding to a first section, wherein the first section falls within a range corresponding to the direction of the electronic device; detect a change in direction of the electronic device by using the wireless communication unit and the sensor; and in response to the change of direction, perform, at least partially, a second direction search corresponding to a second section on the basis of the detected direction change, wherein the second section falls within a range corresponding to the changed direction of the electronic device, and the second section has a smaller range than that of the first section. Other embodiments are possible.

The communication circuit and/or the at least one processor may be configured to be in one of a plurality of states for exchanging data on a bus based on a plurality of generations of the peripheral component interconnect express (PCIe) standard. The plurality of states may include a first state using a first clock rate and a first data encoding rate based on a first one of the plurality of generations, a second state using a second clock rate and a second data encoding rate based on a second one of the plurality of generations, and a first recovery state defined in the first one of the plurality of generations.
