Abstract: This disclosure provides systems, methods, and devices for wireless communication that support enhanced RIS configuration operations. In a first aspect, a method of wireless communication includes receiving a discovery beacon from a RIS controller of a vehicle. The method also include transmitting acknowledgement information in response to the discovery beacon. The method further includes receiving reconfigurable intelligent surface (RIS) configuration information for the vehicle based on the transmission of the acknowledgement information. The RIS configuration information indicates one or more RIS configurations of a plurality of RIS configurations for one or more RISs of the vehicle. Other aspects and features are also claimed and described.

In some aspects, a first user equipment (UE) may receive, from a second UE and via a receive beam of the first UE, an inter-UE coordination (IUC) request, wherein the IUC request is based at least in part on a transmit beam of the second UE that is associated with an intended transmission of the second UE. The UE may transmit, to the second UE, IUC information that indicates preferred resources or non-preferred resources for the intended transmission, wherein the IUC information is based at least in part on a channel sensing by the first UE. Abstract: Apparatus, methods, and computer-readable media for facilitating improvement in sensing for unicast sidelink communication are disclosed herein. An example method for wireless communication at a first user equipment (UE) includes receiving, from a second UE over a sidelink channel, a first transmission comprising sidelink control information (SCI). In some aspects, the SCI indicates a resource reservation of the second UE. The method includes obtaining measurements of the first transmission and determining whether the measurements exceed a reference threshold. The method includes determining whether the SCI includes an indication that the second UE is following a first resource recommendation of a third UE that is an intended receiver of the second UE when the measurements exceed the reference threshold. The method also includes ignoring the resource reservation of the second UE when the SCI includes the indication that the UE is following the first resource recommendation of the third UE.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. To improve sidelink reservation schemes. a first user equipment (UE) may indicate its preferences for sidelink resources to a second UE that may select sidelink resources for sidelink messages based on the indicated preferences. For example, the first UE may monitor a first set of sidelink resources for sidelink control information (SCI) to determine which sidelink resources of a second set of sidelink resources are available. Based on the monitoring, the first UE may generate a bitmap that indicates the first UE's preferences for the sidelink resources of the second set and may transmit a coordination message to the second UE that includes the bitmap. The second UE may receive the coordination message and transmit, to the first UE, one or more sidelink messages using one or more sidelink resources of the second set selected based on the indicated preferences.

Abstract: Disclosed are techniques for wireless positioning. In an aspect, a road-side unit (RSU) may join a first sidelink (SL) ranging session between a first user equipment (UE) and a second UE. The RSU may perform SL ranging with the first UE to determine first ranging information comprising at least a RTT to the first UE. The RSU may perform SL ranging with the second UE to determine second ranging information comprising at least a RTT to the second UE. The RSU may send the first ranging information and the second ranging information to at least one of the first UE or the second UE, or calculate a range between the first UE and the second UE based on the first ranging information and the second ranging information, and send the range to at least one of the first UE and the second UE.

A first user equipment (UE) may be associated with a reconfigurable surface for reflecting transmissions between second and third UEs (e.g., over sidelink resources). In one example, the first UE may transmit signaling indicating that retransmissions of a first message transmitted between a second and third UE and detected by the first UE may be reflected by the reconfigurable surface associated with the first UE. In another example, the first UE may receive a request from a second UE for signal enhancement using a reconfigurable surface, the request associated with a future transmission by the second UE to a third UE. In either case, the UE may determine to perform signal enhancement using a reconfigurable surface and may then reconfigure the reconfigurable surface for reflecting transmissions or retransmissions from the second UE to the third UE.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A first user equipment (UE) may identify a conflict between sidelink messages in one or more sidelink resources of a set of sidelink resources reserved for communications by a second UE. In response to identifying the conflict, the first UE may measure a system load of a sidelink channel for the sidelink messages and may determine a threshold system load of the sidelink channel based on one or more priorities associated with the conflicting sidelink messages. If the system load satisfies the threshold system load, the first UE may transmit a message that indicates the conflict. Additionally, or alternatively, the first UE may transmit the conflict indication using a resource determined based on whether one or more of the conflicting sidelink messages are a broadcast sidelink message or a groupcast sidelink message.

The described techniques support communication between one or more network entities and user equipment (UEs) via configurable intelligent surfaces. The second UE may adjust the configurable intelligent surfaces based on measurement reports generated by the first UE based on communication during the tracking and data periods.
