    Abstract: Method and apparatus for on demand assistance for sidelink communication. The apparatus receives, from a base station, an AN configuration for one or more ANs associated with the base station. The apparatus transmits, to the base station, an AR to request assistance with communication with a second UE from at least one AN associated with the base station. The apparatus receives, from the base station, a grant to schedule sidelink transmission with the second UE. The sidelink transmission with the second UE is assisted by at least one AN of the one or more ANs associated with the base station. The apparatus communicates via sidelink communication with the second UE, via the at least one AN, using allocated resources of the grant from the base station.

    Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques for improving sidelink positioning via messaging between wireless nodes, e.g., roadside service units (RSUs). A method that may be performed by a user equipment (UE) includes receiving a first positioning reference signal (PRS) from a first wireless node, receiving a second PRS from a second wireless node, receiving, from the first wireless node, an estimate of a first clock error component between the first wireless node and the second wireless node, and estimating a position of the UE, based on the first PRS, the second PRS, and the estimate of the first clock error component.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. The described techniques support communication between one or more network entities and user equipment (UEs) via configurable intelligent surfaces. A first UE may transmit, to a second UE associated with a set of configurable intelligent surfaces, first information that indicates a tracking period and a data period that the second UE is to use to manage the configurable intelligent surfaces. The second UE may adjust the configurable intelligent surfaces for the communications between the first UE and network entities during the tracking period and the data period. The second UE may adjust the configurable intelligent surfaces based on measurement reports generated by the first UE based on communication during the tracking and data periods.

    Abstract: Disclosed are techniques for wireless positioning. In an aspect, a user equipment (UE) may determine a set of one or more parameters for sidelink ranging sessions among session participants comprising a session initiator and at least one session responder, wherein the set of one or more parameters comprises: a first parameter indicating a first duration of time that a sidelink ranging session initiator allocates to receive, from a session responder, a response to a session request; and a second parameter indicating a second duration of time that a session responder allocates to receive a session confirmation from a session initiator after issuing, to the session initiator, a response to a session request. The UE may establish a sidelink ranging session according to the set of one or more parameters.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A first user equipment (UE) may generate a first encryption key and a second UE may generate a second encryption key based on a measurement of a channel between the first UE and the second UE. The second UE may transmit, to the first UE, a sidelink message including a one-way digital signature generated using the second encryption key and a message from a defined set of messages. The first UE may generate a set of one-digital signatures using the first encryption key and the defined set of messages and determine whether the one-way digital signature matches one of the set of one-way digital signatures. If there is a match, the first UE and the second UE may communicate using the encryption keys. Otherwise, the first UE and the second UE may generate new encryption keys.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described in which interference between wireless devices that employ radar detection may be reduced or mitigated. A user equipment (UE) may transmit radar signals for target detection and collision avoidance in accordance with an interference mitigation procedure. The interference mitigation procedure may be based on measurement reports of different UEs that are transmitted to a first node (e.g., a roadside unit (RSU) or base station). The first node may configure a measurement procedure for multiple UEs that includes multiple measurement stages, in which a first stage provides that a subset of UEs transmit while other UEs measure received radar signals, and a second stage switches the transmitting and measuring UEs. Each of the UEs may provide measurement reports to the first node, which determines coordinated transmit parameters for the UEs to reduce interference among the UEs.
