    Abstract: Aspects relate to techniques for communication between wireless communication devices using ranging channel information obtained by each of the wireless communication devices. For example, a first wireless communication device may obtain first monostatic ranging channel information based on reflected ranging signals received in response to transmission of a ranging signal. In addition, the first wireless communication device may receive ranging feedback information from a second wireless communication device associated with second monostatic ranging channel information obtained by the second wireless communication device. The first wireless communication device may then determine bistatic channel information from the first monostatic ranging channel information and the ranging feedback information and transmit a message to the second wireless communication device based on the bistatic channel information.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A roadside unit (RSU) may transmit, to a first communication node, a request for multi-static sensing capability information associated with the first communication node. The RSU may receive a report indicating the multi-static sensing capability information for the first communication node. The RSU may transmit, in response to receiving the multi-static sensing capability information, a control message indicating one or more multi-static sensing parameters for the first communication node. The RSU may receive one or more multi-static sensing measurements obtained based at least in part on the one or more multi-static sensing parameters. The RSU may transmit, to the first communication node, a second communication node, or both, one or more channel estimates determined based at least in part on the one or more multi-static sensing measurements.

A user equipment (UE) or a base station may communicate a set of reference signals on a set of interference measurement resources. The set of interference measurements may be based on a first activation schedule of one or more reconfigurable intelligent surfaces (RISs). The UE or the base station may generate interference measurement information associated with the one or more RISs based on the set of reference signals. The base station may determine a second activation schedule of the one or more RISs or an allocation of resources for communicating with the UE based on the set of interference measurements. The base station may communicate with the UE based on the second activation schedule or the allocation of resources.

A base station may identify a first radio bearer to be used for sensing operations and a second radio bearer to be used for data communications. The base station may transmit, to a user equipment (UE), a control message indicating the first radio bearer and the second radio bearer, where the first radio bearer and the second radio bearer may be indicative of a resource allocation for the sensing operations and the data communications. The UE may perform the sensing operations in accordance with a resource allocation, and perform the data communications in accordance with the resource allocation, where the resource allocation may be based on the first radio bearer and the second radio bearer. The UE may perform the sensing operations and the data communications in accordance with a joint communication and radar (JCR) system.

    Abstract: Aspects relate to techniques for joint communication-ranging (JCR) channel estimation. A first wireless communication device may transmit a sidelink message to a second wireless communication device and receive bistatic communication channel feedback from the second wireless communication device based on the sidelink message. The first wireless communication device may further transmit a ranging signal, such as a radar signal or lidar signal, and obtain a monostatic ranging channel estimate based on the received reflected ranging signals. The first wireless communication device may then associate and correlate the monostatic ranging channel estimate with the bistatic communication channel feedback to obtain joint communication-ranging (JCR) side information. The first wireless communication device may then transmit a sidelink transmission to the second wireless communication device using a transmit power and/or a beamforming parameter selected based on the JCR side information.
