Abstract: Devices and methods are described for coding a chroma block of video data. An example device includes one or more memories configured to store the video data. The device includes one or more processors in communication with the one or more memories. The one or more processors are configured to determine that single-tree block partitioning is used on a block of the video data. The one or more processors are configured to apply an intra chroma copy mode to a chroma block of the block. The one or more processors are configured to encode or decode the chroma block based on single-tree block partitioning and the intra chroma copy mode.

Abstract: An example device for filtering decoded video data includes a memory configured to store video data; and one or more processors implemented in circuitry and configured to: decode a picture of video data; code a value for a syntax element representing a neural network model to be used to filter a portion of the decoded picture, the value representing an index into a set of pre-defined neural network models, the index corresponding to the neural network model in the set of pre-defined neural network models; and filter the portion of the decoded picture using the neural network model corresponding to the index.

Abstract: A video coder selects a set of wide-angle intra prediction directions based on a size of a luma block of a picture having a YUV 4:2:2 chroma sampling format. Additionally, the video coder determines an intra prediction direction for the luma block. The intra prediction direction for the luma block is in the set of wide-angle intra prediction directions. The video coder also determines an intra prediction direction for a chroma block. The luma block is collocated in the picture with the chroma block. The chroma block has a different width/height ratio than the luma block. The intra prediction direction for the chroma block is guaranteed to have the intra prediction direction for the luma block. The video coder uses the intra prediction directions for the luma and chroma blocks to generate prediction blocks for the luma and chroma blocks, respectively.

Abstract: Embodiments are directed to systems and methods of using rice code in video coding. In one embodiment includes a method of encoding or decoding video data, e.g., on a video encoder or decoder. The method includes determining available residual coefficients neighboring a current position in a transform unit of video data and determining a sum of the available residual coefficients. The method further includes modifying the sum based on the number of available residual coefficients and determining a rice parameter based on the modified sum. The method further includes encoding or decoding a syntax element of video data based on the determined rice parameter.

Abstract: This disclosure describes determining triangular prediction blocks for a current block partitioned in a triangle mode. A video coder may determine indices in a motion vector predictor list to identify motion vector predictors used to determine the triangular prediction block. If a first index value in the motion vector predictor list for a first triangular prediction block is less than a second index value in the motion vector predictor list for a second triangular prediction block, the signaled or received value for the second triangular prediction block may be the second index value reduced by an offset.
