摘要: The present invention relates to digital pathology, and relates in particular to a digital pathology scanner illumination unit. In order to provide digital pathology scanning with improved illumination, a digital pathology scanner illumination unit (10) is provided that comprises a light source (12), a light mixing chamber (14), and a light diffuser (16). The light source comprises a plurality of light elements (18) that are arranged longitudinally along a linear extension direction. The mixing chamber comprises a transparent volume (22) providing a mixing distance (DM) between the plurality of the light elements and the light diffuser such that light with a uniform intensity is provided at a downstream edge (26) of the mixing chamber; and the mixing chamber is arranged, in terms of light propagation, between the plurality of the light elements and the light diffuser. Further, the light diffuser comprises a diffusing material such that the light is transformed into light that has uniformity at different angles, in particular low angles.

摘要: There is provided a hair cutting device for cutting hair on a body of a subject, the hair cutting device comprising a light source for generating laser light at one or more specific wavelengths corresponding to wavelengths absorbed by one or more chromophores in hair; and a cutting element that comprises an optical waveguide that is coupled to the light source to receive laser light, wherein a portion of a side wall of the optical waveguide forms a cutting face for contacting hair, and wherein at least at the cutting face the optical waveguide has a refractive index that is equal to or lower than the refractive index of hair and higher than the refractive index of skin.

摘要: The invention describes a laser sensor or laser sensor module (100) using self-mixing interference for particle density detection, a related method of particle density detection and a corresponding computer program product. The invention further relates to devices comprising such a laser sensor or laser sensor module. It is a basic idea of the present invention to detect particles by means of self-mixing interference signals and determine a corresponding particle density. In addition at least a first parameter related to at least one velocity component of a velocity vector of the particles is determined in order to correct the particle density if there is the relative movement between a detection volume and the particles. Such a relative movement may for example be related to a velocity of a fluid transporting the particles (e.g. wind speed). Furthermore, it is possible to determine at least one velocity component of the velocity of the particles based on the self-mixing interference signals.

摘要: The invention relates to a device (100) for detection of plaque (P) on teeth (T). According to a preferred embodiment, light (Im) is emitted towards the teeth (T), and a part thereof as scattered from the surface of the teeth (T) and plaque (P) which may be present on the teeth (T) is recollected by a light receiving element (121). The received light (Isc) is provided to a light detector (120) for generating a detection signal (x) that represents at least one property of the light (Isc), which is then evaluated with respect to the presence of plaque (P) by determining at least one scattering-related quantity. The quantity may for example be a ratio or coefficient to be calculated from the spectrum of the received light (Isc), or the temporal development of a speckle pattern.
