Abstract: A reflective display body configured such that the up-down direction of display content on a display surface can be changed. The reflective display body includes a light diffusion control layer, a display device, and a reflective layer. The light diffusion control layer has a diffusion angle width of 5° or more and 80° or less in which a haze value (%) is 90% or more as measured when one surface of the light diffusion control layer is irradiated with light rays at an incident angle of −70° to 70° with respect to the normal direction of the one surface being 0°. The light diffusion control layer has an acute angle of 7° or more and 83° or less.

Abstract: An anti-glare film including a light reflectance of 3.8% or less and a haze of 40% or greater. A 60° gloss of the anti-glare film may be 15% or less. The anti-glare film includes a transparent substrate layer, and an anti-glare layer formed on at least one surface of the transparent substrate layer. The anti-glare layer may be a cured product of a curable composition including one or more types of a polymer component and one or more types of a curable resin precursor component, and in particular, at least two components selected from a polymer component and a curable resin precursor component can be phase separated through liquid phase spinodal decomposition. The anti-glare film has improved anti-reflection properties.

Abstract: An optical system includes a display, at least one lens, and at least one of a partial reflector and a reflective polarizer. The optical system forms a virtual image of an image emitted by the display for viewing by an eye. The emitted image includes a plurality of cones of image light. Each cone of image light propagates from a different corresponding location on the emitted image and includes a central light ray propagating along a central axis, such that in each of orthogonal first and second planes that include the central axis, an intensity distribution of the cone of image light as a function of angle relative to the central axis includes a substantially flat peak having a full width of at least 15 degrees across which the peak changes by less than about 20%, and a corresponding fullwidth at half maximum that is less than about 60 degrees.

The high refractive index layers and the low refractive index layers are each curved and recessed in a direction from the first surface toward the second surface.

Abstract: Complex wavefront engineering is realized through a random metasurface phase mask backed by a phase-only spatial light modulator. The metasurface consists of an array of subwavelength nanoscatterers which give the metasurface a pre-arranged disorder. Since the transmission matrix of the disordered metasurface is known, there is no need for extensive characterization measurements which are instead required in standard disordered optical devices.
