Abstract: A device for applying a composition to a skin of a face includes an end effector having a base portion and a protruding portion extending distally from the base portion. The protruding portion has a distal opening. The device also includes a detector arrangement obtaining image data corresponding to an image of an area of the skin through the distal opening and an applicator arrangement applying the composition to a location within the area. The device further includes a processing arrangement receiving and analyzing the image data to determine whether the applicator is aimed to safely dispense the composition to the area and whether a frexel within the area corresponds to a skin artifact, and directing the applicator to selectively apply the composition to the frexel when the applicator is aimed to safely dispense the composition to the area and the skin artifact is detected from the frexel.

Abstract: A system and kit for measuring analyte concentration in a bodily fluid include a durable component, at least one indicator component including an indicator zone, and at least one moisture sensor. The kit has multiple individually packaged indicator components. Methods of measuring analyte concentration in bodily fluids include the steps of collecting and transporting bodily fluid to at least one colorimetric analyte sensing element and detecting the presence of bodily fluid in contact with the at least one colorimetric analyte sensing element, collecting optical data relating to the at least one colorimetric analyte sensing element with at least one spectrophotometer after a predetermined time period after detecting the presence of bodily fluid, communicating the optical data to a computing system having at least one processor and data storage, and analyzing the optical data to determine at least one analyte concentration in the bodily fluid.

Abstract: A phototherapy system wearable on a portion of a user's face includes a lamp platform and a controller unit disposed on, and electrically coupled to, the lamp platform, and a frame for holding the lamp platform in a fixed orientation on a user's face. Abstract: A device for dispensing a fluid topical composition includes a reservoir storing the composition and dispensing a pressurized flow of the composition. The device also includes an accumulator having an expandable chamber in fluidly communication with the reservoir. The chamber is biased towards a deflated configuration so that, when filled with the composition the chamber expands against this bias applying pressure to the composition stored therein. The device includes a supply valve regulating the flow of the composition from the reservoir to the accumulator, and a pressure sensor. The device further includes a processing arrangement analyzing data from the sensor to determine whether pressure in the accumulator is above a predetermined threshold and controlling the supply valve to maintain the pressure within a desired pressure range. The device also includes a deposition arrangement dispensing the composition from the accumulator under control of the processing arrangement.

Abstract: A process capable of commercial scale manufacturing of inexpensive, shaped film products includes placing a mask over a substrate; delivering a film-forming composition through a nozzle to form a raw shape on the substrate; removing the mask; and solidifying the film-forming composition to provide the shaped film product disposed on the substrate. The mask has a delivery surface and an opposite substrate-facing surface and at least one aperture having a design corresponding to the desired shaped film product. The nozzle is disposed in sealing engagement with the delivery surface of the mask to the at least one aperture of the mask during delivery of the film-forming composition.

Abstract: A system for delivering energy to an isolated part of a mammalian body includes an electrically powered patch and a self-supporting adhesive film. The patch has a major surface and comprises a matrix of at least one flexible, biocompatible material which is capable of conforming to the isolated body part. The self-supporting adhesive film has a first non-tacky surface arranged and configured for releasable attachment to the patch and a second tacky surface, opposite the first surface, for adhesive attachment to the isolated body part. The releasable attachment between the self-supporting adhesive film and the electrically powered patch has a lower strength than the adhesive attachment between the film and the isolated body part. Thus, during use the electrically powered patch is removable from the self-supporting adhesive film while leaving the self-supporting adhesive film adhered to the isolated body part.
