Abstract:
A method for drilling boreholes utilizing a plurality of simultaneously operated boring tools. During a drilling operation the loading forces on the tools are measured and constantly compared with a predetermined limiting value representative of a limiting loading value and the variation of a limiting loading value with respect to time. If these limiting values are exceeded at least one working parameter of the tools is adjusted such as feed force, feed speed or track speed of the tools. Apparatus for carrying out the method is also disclosed.
Abstract:
A process and an apparatus for sinking drill holes, in particular exploration and extraction drill holes, with a drill pipe, which at its end facing the floor to be mined is provided with a guide point fixed in the longitudinal direction of the drill pipe and a drill head with at least one cutting element. The drill head can be moved in the longitudinal direction of the drill pipe between a top position, in which the guide point projects beyond the at least one cutting element, and a bottom position in which the at least one cutting element is positioned at the same height as the end of the guide point or projects beyond same in the operating direction. When the drill head is in the top position, the drill pipe is moved in the direction of the drill hole to be produced until the guide point by cooperating with the floor fixes it in position. Then the drill head is moved into its bottom position in order to produce the drill hole.
Abstract:
An apparatus for extracting cores comprises an outer tube, an inner tube which contains a core receiving space, and a striking device which comprises a hammer and an anvil for producing a periodic axial movement of the inner tube relative to the outer tube, wherein the inner tube, the striking device and an associated supporting body form a unit which may be moved through the outer tube in the axial direction thereof by means of a withdrawal mechanism, and wherein a part of this unit joined to an element of the striking device for rotational entrainment may be connected to the inner tube.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a device for drilling a bore in the ground, comprising a drive system with a connecting rod assembly that extends from the drive system into the ground. The end of said assembly pointing towards the face or base of the bore is connected to a tool head (40). The device also comprises several tools (41) that are located on the tool head (40) and work on the face or the base of the bore. The inventive device is characterised in that each tool (41) comprises an excavation disc (45) and elements that cause the excavation disc (45) to oscillate during operation.

Abstract:
To separate relatively long upright pipes (13) which have a relatively large diameter, the lower end thereof being fixed in the ground, in particular of support legs (3) of an off-shore oil bore or conveying platform (100), a cutting unit is lowered down into the pipe (13) to a separation point. The cutting unit (40) acts gradually from the inside across the periphery to the internal periphery of the pipe (13) and cuts through the pipe (13) by removing metal. A bore tool head (60) is mounted upstream of the cutting unit (40), viewed from the lowering position, and is used to bore out material in the pipe such as ocean bed or concrete.
Abstract:
Method of, and apparatus for, sinking bore holes, in particular exploratory and extraction bore holes, in the sea bed (40). The material from the sea bed is loosened with the aid of a rotating drill head (10) which is arranged at the bottom end of a drill string (5) which is suitable for transmitting a torque. The top end of the drill string is mounted on a floating platform (1), it being the case that the drill string (5) comprises at least two telescopically interengaging drill-string parts (6, 7) which, during a vertical movement of the platform, induced for example by the sea swell, execute a movement relative to one another, with the result that the drill head (10) rests with an essentially constant force on the surface which is to be cleared away.
Abstract:
An actuating system for operating pressure-medium actuated coupling members for remotely connecting a drill column to a pipe or pipe casing, where the location of the connection is inaccessible, comprises a directional control valve (48) switchable by an actuator (46) and having at least three connections (51, 52, 53), a coupling (47) operated in one direction by the actuator disposed between the actuator (46) and the adjustable part of the directional valve (48). The coupling members may be a plurality of radially movable bearing members (34) and bars (24) spaced apart in the axial direction of the device.
Abstract:
A holding device for a boring head tool and the tool itself are arranged so that the tool can be mounted from the rear of the boring head. The tool is mounted on a supporting member which has head parts provided with supporting faces and the holding device has rigid support surfaces for engaging the supporting faces of the tool. The support surfaces are directed towards the front of the holding device and the holding device also has passages extending from the rear to in front of the rigid support surfaces as to allow the passage therethrough of the head parts for assembly. The head parts are conveyed through the passages in rotated positions offset with respect to their position in the assembled state and then moved to an assembly position in which the contact surfaces of the tool are held against the rigid support surfaces of the holding device by fastening screws which engage in threaded bores of the head parts.
Abstract:
A drilling tool for drilling bore holes into the ground and for removing the drilled material using an air-lifting process. The drilling tool has a drilling head equipped at its lower surface with curing elements, whose upper surface is connected to hollow drilling rods having an inner conveying channel and from whose lower surface boring material mixed with a rinsing liquid is removed via the conveying channel. At the lower surface of the drilling tool head, inside a radial channel connected to the conveying channel, a cross-flow of the rinsing liquid, flowing radially inwards and having a high flow velocity, is produced for the purpose of carrying along the boring material.
