    Abstract: A jarring tool used to dislodge a stuck tubular string or bottom hole assembly within an underground wellbore. A funnel element is placed underground either within, or as part of, a tubular string. A deformable ball may be seated within the funnel element to block fluid from passing within the tubular string. Hydraulic pressure may build within the tubular string until it exceeds the pressure the ball can withstand. This will cause the ball to deform and be expelled through the funnel element. With no ball to block its flow, fluid will be rapidly released through the funnel element. The rapid release of fluid will cause a powerful jarring or jolting to the tubular string or bottom hole assembly. Deformed balls may be captured in a cartridge chamber installed within the drill string and sized to create turbulent fluid flow within the drill string.

    Abstract: A high force stroker tool for integration within a wellbore string disposed along a wellbore defined within a subterranean reservoir is provided. The stroker tool includes a hydraulic anchor hydraulically operable to deploy slips securable to the wellbore and to define a mechanical brace, a shifting tool operatively coupled to the hydraulic anchor and comprising a mechanical anchor securable to a movable component, the shifting tool being mechanically operable to move the movable component; and an actuator coupled between the hydraulic anchor and the shifting tool, the actuator being hydraulically operable to brace against the mechanical brace and create a downhole mechanical force adapted to mechanically operate the shifting tool. A method of shifting downhole valve assemblies using the high force stroker tool is also provided.

    Abstract: There is provided a bottomhole assembly that is deployable downhole within a wellbore via a conveyance system. The conveyance system includes a fluid conductor for effecting fluid communication between the surface and the bottomhole assembly. The bottomhole assembly includes an actuator tool and a shifting tool. In some embodiments, for example, the actuator tool is disposed for receiving transmission of a compressive force being applied to the conveyance system from the surface, and transmitting the compressive force for actuating the shifting tool. In some embodiments, for example, the actuator includes an anchoring tool configured for hydraulic actuation, via fluid pressure forces communicated by the fluid conductor of the conveyance system, for becoming retained relative to the wellbore string. In some embodiments, for example, the actuator tool also includes a linear actuator that is extendible relative to the anchoring tool, while the anchoring tool is retained relative to the wellbore string, for transmitting a force to the actuated shifting tool with effect that the shifting tool is displaced relative to the wellbore.

    Abstract: A tool includes a main body configured to be disposed within a tubular string within a wellbore, such that a location of the tool within the tubular string is changeable between a surface location and a downhole location. The tool includes one or more sensors configured to measure downhole parameters from which the physical properties of the wellbore can be determined. The tool further includes a flapper configured (a) to, in response to the position of the tool changing from the surface location to the downhole location, pivot radially from a closed position in which the flapper is aligned with the main body to an open position in which the flapper is away from the main body, and (b) to, in response to the position of the tool changing from the downhole location to the surface location, pivot radially from the open position to the closed position.
