A roadway/tunnel excavation robot and an automatic cutting control method are provided. The robot includes a rack, a walking platform, a supporting and stabilizing mechanism, a milling mechanism, a telescoping mechanism, an inclined cutting feed adjusting mechanism, a horizontal swinging mechanism, a lifting mechanism and a controller. The milling mechanism includes a drive unit, a milling shaft, an eccentric rotary casing, a high-pressure jet nozzle unit, a tension and compression sensor and a direction sensor. Through the deflection of a center line of an inner hole of the eccentric rotary casing, the milling mechanism drives a milling cutter head to carry out a rotational oscillation motion for rock breaking. The telescoping mechanism, the inclined cutting feed adjusting mechanism, the lifting mechanism and the horizontal swinging mechanism are controlled such that the milling mechanism performs coal rocks milling.

The rock drilling rig is positioned at faces of rounds and is navigated before initiating drilling. The navigation is executed without a predetermined tunnel line. The system includes a wall-climbing robot, a controller, and a signal processor, wherein the wall-climbing robot is provided with a plurality of groups of hyperspectral light sources and receivers, and the hyperspectral light sources and the receivers are arranged at intervals; the controller is configured to control the operation of the wall-climbing robot to ensure that the wall-climbing robot moves on a tunnel face according to a set spiral path; and the signal processor communicates with the receivers to receive the acquired spectrum data, draws a mineral distribution map of the tunnel face with the path raveled by the wall-climbing robot as a plane, and identifies an adverse geological body by identifying categories and distribution characteristics of the representative minerals.

Systems for forming or extending a tunnel or shaft within geologic material may include a ram accelerator assembly for accelerating one or more projectiles into geologic material to weaken a region of the geologic material. The projectile(s) pre-condition the geologic material, such as by forming one or more holes in a central region of the material or to define a perimeter of the region to be displaced. A cutting tool or subsequent projectile impacts may then be used to remove the weakened material. The voids formed by the first projectile(s) cause compressive forces from subsequent impacts or cutting operations to be converted to tension forces that more efficiently break geologic material, which may fall into the voids created by the first projectile(s). The voids created by the projectile impacts may also control the material that is removed and the shape of a resulting section of the tunnel or shaft.

A sensor module of the monitoring device is arranged in close proximity to the disk cutter but without touching so that a state of rotation of the disk cutter generated by transmitters mounted in the disk cutter is reliably ensured even under the rough environmental conditions prevailing in shield tunnel boring.

A position measuring apparatus easily and accurately detects the position of an underground excavator, such as a shield excavator, during the underground excavation, and particularly the position thereof on a horizontal plane. The position measuring apparatus comprises a transmitter (10) including at least two cable loops (10a, 10b) which generate AC magnetic fields; a receiver (30) which detects the AC magnetic fields and produces signals representative of the detected fields; and a computing unit (60) which identifies the signals with respect to the originating cable loop and which calculates the position of the underground excavator (20). The two cable loops (10a, 10b) are substantially perpendicular to each other. The receiver (30) includes two magnetic field detecting elements (S.sub.1, S.sub.2) which are substantially perpendicular to each other. The receiver (30) is rotatably driven so as to maintain the magnetic field detecting elements (S.sub.1, S.sub.2) at constant angles to the cable loops (10a, 10b).
