    摘要: A tunnel excavation technique using a water jet. A water jet system includes a moving unit movable back and forth with respect to an area to be blasted for tunnel excavation, an articulated robot arm mounted on the moving unit, a water jet nozzle which ejects high-pressure water and an abrasive toward an area to be excavated, and a control unit which controls the moving unit, the articulated robot arm and the water jet nozzle. A free face having a predetermined depth is formed of the area to be excavated in the direction in which the tunnel is to be excavated using the water jet system. Since the blasting is performed after the free face is formed, blast vibration can be effectively restricted.

    摘要: A horizontal remote mining system comprising a water jet cutting head, down hole crusher, jet pump, and guidance system for orchestrating select excavation of a horizontal borehole. The system is assembled on the end of a drill string comprised of multiple compartments accommodating various water pressures and functions in association with the remote excavation process. Selective tubing is also utilized to facilitate movement of air and ventilation of the borehole. In this manner, relatively thin coal seams can be economically mined.

The output can be increased by reducing the cocking or cushion gas pressure required to dislodge the poppet valve from its seated position in the driving port by introducing pressurized oil into the driving port between the poppet valve and poppet actuator. The thrust generator of this invention has a relatively flat thrust pattern making it especially suitable as a driving mechanism for high velocity water jets for fracturing concrete and the like.

The excavating device includes an assembly of jet excavating units which together define the cross section of the channel and are each provided with at least one jet device.     摘要: An excavator including a center shaft rotatably provided in a shield body in concentric relation to an outer cone. An inner cone for crushing excavated materials in cooperation with the outer cone is eccentrically provided on the center shaft. A cutter head provided in front of the inner cone is mounted on the center shaft. An internally-toothed gear is secured to the inner cone in concentric relation to the center shaft. A plurality of externally-toothed gears rotated by driving motors whose rotational speed and torque are variably controllable are internally meshed with the internally-toothed gear. Rotation of the externally-toothed gears causes the center shaft to rotate through the inner cone. A plurality of water jet spray nozzles are provided on the cutter head. The spray pressure is switched between high pressure and low pressure.
