    摘要: An aqueous cell culture medium composition includes an aqueous cell culture solution configured to support the culture of mammalian cells. The composition further includes a synthetic polymer conjugated to a polypeptide dissolved in the aqueous cell culture solution. The synthetic polymer conjugated to a polypeptide is configured to attach to the surface of a cell culture article under cell culture conditions. Incubation of the aqueous cell culture medium composition on a cell culture surface under cell culture conditions results is attachment to the surface of the synthetic polymer conjugated to the polypeptide.

    摘要: Cross-linked shear-thinning fluids of pectic acid demonstrating increased viscosity with decreasing shear, as well as methods of producing and using the same. A shear-thinning fluid includes an aqueous solution of pectic acid cross-linked by a divalent cation is disclosed. The pectic acid may be present in an amount ranging from about 0.5 to about 3.0% (w/v), the divalent cation may be present at a concentration of from about 0.5 mM to about 7.0 mM, and the viscosity of the shear-thinning fluid increases with decreasing shear. These cross-linked shear-thinning fluids of pectic acid can be utilized for controlled release formulations, cell encapsulation, and 3D printing, and provide for an improved balance between structure fidelity/mechanical stability and cell viability.

    摘要: Magnetic particles (100) have a particle size (134) of 500 nm or less and include a core (110) and a polymer coating (120) that surrounds and encapsulates the core (110). The core (110) includes a metal, metal alloy, or metal oxide of at least one metal such as B, Mg, Al, Mn, Co, Ni, Cu, Fe Sm, Yb, Dy, Gd or Er and Nb. The magnetic core (100) is a polycrystalline particle and is a superspin glass magnetic material, having a coercivity greater than zero and a magnetic remenance greater than zero at room temperature. Above room temperature and at low field, the magnetic moment of these superspin glass magnetic materials increases with temperature. An in situ hydrolysis/precipitation method from precursor metal salts is used to form the polymer-encapsulated magnetic particles (100).

    摘要: A bioreactor system for culturing cells is provided having a cell culture vessel with an interior reservoir, and an inlet and outlet connected to the reservoir. The system also includes a cell culture matrix in the reservoir for adhering cells thereto. The cell culture matrix maintains a uniform flow of liquid media through the cell culture matrix, such that the uniform flow satisfies the following expressions: wherein P is greater than or equal to at least one of 0.3, 0.4, 0.5, 0.6, 0.7, 0.8, 0.9, and 0.95, and wherein N is less than or equal to at least one of 0.1, 0.2, 0.3, 0.4, 0.5, 0.6, 0.7, 0.8, 0.9, and 1.0.
