Abstract: Medical adhesive articles include a layer of adhesive and a modified substrate layer where the layer has a plurality of cuts arrayed in a pattern that may be random or the pattern can be arrayed along at least one axis. The cuts are gaps, but the gaps are not visible to the naked eye when the adhesive article is in an unstressed state, and at least some of the cuts become gaps that are visible to the naked eye and form apertures when the adhesive article is in a stressed state. The adhesive articles can be used to adhere a medical device to skin.

Abstract: A method for repositioning an abrasive disc within a repositionable abrasive disc mounting assembly is presented. The method includes mounting the abrasive disc to a repositionable abrasive disc mounting assembly in a first position. The mounting disc assembly includes the abrasive disc coupled to the back-up pad assembly such that the abrasive disc is in contact with a pressure feature of the back-up pad assembly, a drive shaft of a grinding tool, and a fastener that maintains the position of the abrasive disc and the back-up pad coupled to the drive shaft. The method also includes conducting an abrasive operation by activating the grinding tool. The method also includes re-positioning the abrasive disc, with respect to the repositionable abrasive disc mounting assembly, in a second position. The first position includes the abrasive disc in a first position relative to the pressure feature. The second position includes the abrasive disc in a second position relative to the pressure feature assembly. Re-positioning includes an adjustment between the first and second position while the abrasive disc is still positioned on the drive shaft between the fastener and the back-up pad assembly.

Abstract: Medical dressings including stiffening systems fixedly attached to backing layers are described herein along with methods of using the medical dressings. The stiffening system is fixedly secured to the backing to limit flexing and stretching of the backing layer. Typically, the medical dressing and stiffening system is applied over a medical device that is secured to skin. The stiffening system covers some of the medical device and also extends beyond the medical device. The stiffening system stabilizes the medical device over the skin.

According to one example, the apparatus can optionally include a flexible first film, a second film and a first plurality of features. The first plurality of features can be disposed between the first film and the second film At least some of the first plurality of features are spaced apart from one another by a gap when the first film is not subject to an applied bending force or is subject to the applied bending force below a predetermined magnitude in one or both of the transverse direction and the longitudinal direction, and at least some of the first plurality of features contact one another to arrest a curvature of the first film when the applied bending force is at or above the predetermined magnitude.

Abstract: The present disclosure provides a system and method for controlling spot lights, such as theater or display lights, which incorporates a handheld remote control that uses intuitive motions for selecting, positioning, dimming and other lighting setup functions. The present disclosure describes a spotlight control device, a lighting system including the spotlight control device, and a method for spotlight control. The spotlight control device incorporates a first light source that emits a first control beam that activates a desired spotlight. The activated spotlight can provide feedback to indicate that it has been activated. Abstract: An article has first and second substrates with a spacer between them. The spacer includes beams connecting a plurality of walls, with openings between the beams. The plurality of walls includes multiple first, second, and third portions. The first and second portions are not parallel and have top and bottom edges that define a height of the wall and contact the first and second substrates, respectively. The third portions have top edges continuous with the top edges of the first and second portions but a smaller height than the height of the wall. At a given plane intersecting a first or second portion and perpendicular to the top and bottom edges, the thickness of at the top edge is plus or minus ten percent of the thickness at the bottom edge. The third portions are connected with some of the beams connecting the walls.
