摘要： A truck trailer cover 40 includes a multi-layered article 10 that is dimensioned and adapted to be fitted over and secured to a truck trailer 42. The multi-layered article, 10 includes a fabric 12 having a polymeric sheet 14, 16 secured to each side of the fabric 12. Each polymeric sheet 14, 16 secured to the fabric 12 has two non-chlorinated polymeric layers. The first non-chlorinated polymeric layer A, A' is disposed on the inner side of each sheet and contains an ethylene copolymer that has a Shore A hardness less than 85. The second non-chlorinated polymeric layer B, B' is disposed on the outer side of each sheet and contains a polymer having a Shore A hardness greater than 85. The multi-layered article 10 demonstrates good flex-crack resistance to make it suitable for use in a roll-up sign 30 or a truck trailer cover 40.

摘要： Retroreflective-treated fabrics, and products and methods for forming the treatments are taught. As an example, a free-flowing mass of minute retroreflectorization particles that each comprise hemispherically reflectorized transparent microspheres supported in a softenable binder material are cascaded onto a fabric. The binder material is softened during application to provide adhesion of the particles to the fabric. A very sparse retroreflective treatment can be provided, which leaves the fabric with nearly its full original appearance as well as hand, feel, and breathability. Yet the treatment will greatly increase the safety of a pedestrian by making him visible at night.

摘要： Novel magnetically orientable retroreflectorization particles permit application of highly oriented retroreflective coatings. The retroreflectorization particles individually comprise at least one transparent microsphere, specular reflective means in optical connection with a first portion of said microsphere so as to provide retroreflection of light incident on the opposed portion of the microsphere, and a magnetic layer underlying said specular reflective means and having a magnetic axis parallel to the optical axis on which said first and opposed portions of the microsphere are aligned. When the particles are applied to a substrate in the presence of a magnetic field having flux lines of appropriate polarity perpendicular to the substrate, the particles tend to become aligned in a common direction that retroreflects light incident on the coating.

摘要： A retroreflective element that exhibits exceptional wet retroreflectivity, and a method of manufacturing the same. The retroreflective element includes an assembly having a multi-sided retroreflector and a clear thermoplastic. In one embodiment, the clear thermoplastic is at least partially thermally deformed to create a convex retroreflective dome for capturing high incident angle light rays.
