    摘要: A video recording and scanning system includes a disc-type record, and a record player, the record having both video picture signal producing indicia and synchronizing pulse producing indicia recorded on its spiral track, the length of the trackcarrying signals for recording each picture being variable to permit greater compression of information on a given track with short spacings, or greater image resolution detail with long spacings, the number of the pulse indicia having a fixed ratio to the number of individual pictures recorded on the disc, the position of each pulse indicium being fixed relative to the position of the indicia for producing each picture, the record player including a scanning means, a comparison circuit and a disc speed varying means, the scanning means being mounted for relative movement along the track and producing both picture signals and pulse signals, the comparison circuit comparing the frequency of the pulse signals to a reference frequency to produce an adjustment signal, and the disc speed varying means being responsive to the adjustment signal to vary the speed at which the record track moves past the scanning head so that the variable length portions of track-carrying signals for producing one image move past the scanning means in the same period of time and produce a constant picture changing frequency which is independent of the length of the track carrying the signals for producing each picture.

    摘要: An optoelectronic or photosensitive semiconductor device in which a light-emitting element and a light-responsive element are arranged in a common casing, the degree of photocoupling between the two elements being dependent entirely on conditions exterior of the casing. In one embodiment, the two elements are embedded in a light-permeable mass, the boundary surface of which, together with a medium surrounding the mass, forms a surface whose reflection characteristic is dependent on the indices of refraction of the mass and of the medium, the elements themselves being so arranged that when the index of refraction of the medium is such that the boundary reflects the light coming from the light-emitting element, the reflected light is picked up by the light-responsive element, with the amount of light being picked up being dependent on, and thus an indication of, the medium surrounding the mass. In another embodiment, light emitted by the light-emitting element is free to exit the mass and, if reflected by an object outside the mass, is picked up by the lightresponsive element.

    摘要: A tunable input circuit with high selectivity for feeding a signal to a variable-frequency band-pass filter with tuning elements identical to those of the input circuit. The high selectivity produced by the input circuit is a minimum in the range of the received frequency and a maximum in the range of the image frequency. The input circuit is a bridge having four arms with impedances in them and four points connecting the arms. The impedances are diagonally matched, and one set is variable. One set of diagonally opposite points connecting the arms is connected between an antenna lead and ground. A voltage-variable capacitance (such as a voltage-variable diode) is connected between the other pair of connecting points. A tuning voltage is fed back to the voltage-variable capacitance means. This voltage is preferably the same voltage used to tune the band-pass filter.
