The present disclosure provides immunomodulatory compositions comprising live Caulobacter crescentus (CC). Immunomodulatory compositions of the present disclosure are useful for modulating an immune response in an individual. The present disclosure thus provides methods of modulating an immune response in an individual, involving administering an immunomodulatory composition comprising live CC to the individual.

Affibody polypeptides that specifically bind to B7-H3 are provided. Exemplary anti-B7-H3 affibodies are provided. The affibody polypeptides specifically recognize and bind to B7-H3 with high affinity. The affibodies can be conjugated to contrast agents, including without limitation microbubbles for contrast-enhanced ultrasound imaging

A device or method to prevent penetration of oil and petroleum products while allowing high water flow rate is provided. Such device or method is beneficial in controlling the contamination of surrounding soil from accidental leak of hydrocarbons such as oil and other petroleum products from equipment or storage vessels containing such materials. The containment systems equipped with these devices will allow the rain water to flow through while providing barrier to oil and petroleum products.
Abstract:
A bonded device having at least one porosified surface is disclosed. The porosification process introduces nanoporous holes into the microstructure of the bonding surfaces of the devices. The material property of a porosified material is softer as compared to a non-porosified material. For the same bonding conditions, the use of the porosified bonding surfaces enhances the bond strength of the bonded interface as compared to the non-porosified material.

The present invention is a method and a system of cell detection and analysis. The present invention may incorporate at least an optical source, a fluidic chip and a detection module. Cells may be caused to flow within the fluidic chip and specifically past a detection window section accessible by the optical source. The flowing cells may be identified and/or analyzed. The detection module may specifically count the cells of interest as they flow past the detection window section of the chip. The detection module may further be operable to generate or otherwise capture images of the cells as they flow past the window and to use these images collectively for the purpose of analyzing the cells. The present invention may be portable and operable in remote locations.

Various graphical displays used for visualization of control techniques in a process control system can be provided to an operator. For example, the graphical display could include an image associated with a portion of a process and icons that are associated with corresponding process variables. At least some of the icons include a symbol that represents a change of one value of the associated process variable relative to another value of the process variable. Another graphical display could include a pigeonhole display that includes visual elements associated with corresponding process variables. Selection of a visual element could present the operator with a peephole display that includes information associated with process variables associated with the selected visual element. Each visual element displays layers of information that are associated with its process variable.

A system and method are set forth for remotely controlling a presentation from a portable electronic device so as to freeze a slide on a remote projector to permit searching for a desired slide on the portable electronic device and then continuing the presentation when searching is complete. In one embodiment, a switch is provided in a communication layer of a presentation application such that when the switch is turned off, communication is suspended between the portable electronic device and the projector, thereby permitting browsing on the portable electronic device without interrupting the presentation. When the switch is turned on the current slide information is transmitted from the portable electronic device to the projector.

A processor may include a core and an uncore area. The power consumed by the core area may be controlled by controlling the Cdyn of the processor such that the Cdyn is within an allowable Cdyn value irrespective of the application being processed by the core area. The power management technique includes measuring digital activity factor (DAF), monitoring architectural and data activity levels, and controlling power consumption by throttling the instructions based on the activity levels. As a result of throttling the instructions, throttling may be implemented in 3rd droop and thermal design point (TDP). Also, the idle power consumed by the uncore area while the core area is in deep power saving states may be reduced by varying the reference voltage VR and the VP provided to the uncore area. As a result, the idle power consumed by the uncore area may be reduced.
