摘要: The invention relates to a method and a system for reducing anxiety of patients before and during e.g. MR scanning examinations. The method is based on displaying images on walls (106,107) of the scanner room (100) so that when the patient enters the scanner room, then an image is displayed on a wall visible to the patient, e.g. a wall adjacent to the entry door (103). When the patient is laying on the table (102) of the scanner (101) the projection of images is switched to another wall by reflecting the projected images using e.g. a mirror which is moved into the light rays emitted by an image projector.

摘要: The invention relates to a control sys tem (100) for an ambient light environment in a room in a hospital environment. The control system is configured to time and synchronize light effects of the ambient light environment (170, 190) in response to sensor signals (111-113) from patient location sensors (121) or other sensors (122,123) for detecting if a clinical instrument is activated, moved or taken into use or for detecting heart rate. Light effects may be used by the clinical personnel to improve quality and speed of the examination and to create a calming atmosphere for the patient. However, different light effects are required at different times and for different durations. Therefore, timing of the light effects relative to sensor signals may improve workflow and patient comfort.

摘要: An image display including a touch-sensitive display, that creates tactile sensation and movement of an object (3-2) along its surface is provided. Actuators including conductive rods (4-111, 4-112) attached together may be used, such that each rod of the actuator (4-11) may increase or decrease in size when current is applied to that rod to cause the actuator to bend toward a specified direction. Also, an image display that includes ball bearings (1-10) whose rotation is controlled by driving magnets (1-21, 1-22) to cause an object to move is provided. Further, air holes (3-11) tilted in various directions to control object movement by air pressure may be provided. Moreover, rods (3-10) may be moved up or down as activated by driving magnets (2-20). The actuators, rods, ball bearing assemblies, or holes may provide touch sensitivity for the image display.

摘要: The invention relates to a device for analyzing one or more samples for the presence, amount or identity of one or more target molecules in the samples, comprising one or more capture sites whereby the device comprises a gas evolving means. The gas evolved by the gas evolving means moves unbound target molecules away from the capture site and therefore helps to increase the efficacy of the analysis.

摘要: A driving circuit for driving an in-plane moving particle device has a pixel (P) comprising movable charged particles (PA). The pixel (P) has a reservoir electrode (RE), a display electrode (DE), and a gate electrode (GE) laterally placed in-between the reservoir electrode (RE) and the display electrode (DE). The driving circuit (DC) comprises a driver (DR), a controller (CO) which receives an input signal (OS) representing an image to be displayed on the moving particle device. The controller (CO) controls the driver (DR) to supply a first voltage difference (VD1) between the reservoir electrode (RE) and the gate electrode (GE) and a second voltage difference (VD2) between the gate electrode (GE) and the display electrode (DE). The image is written to the pixel (P) during a write phase (TW) by moving particles (PA) from the reservoir electrode (RE) via the gate electrode (GE) to the display electrode (DE) if the optical state of the pixel (P) should change in conformity with the image. If during the write phase (TW) the optical state of the pixel (P) should not change, the first voltage difference (VD1) has a first write level and the second voltage difference (VD2) has a second write level, both write levels are selected to repulse the particles (PA) from the gate electrode (GE). During a repulsion period (TR), the first voltage difference (VD1) has a level more repulsive to the particles than the first write level, and/or the second voltage difference (VD2) has a level more repulsive than the second write level.

摘要: An in-plane driven moving particle device comprises a first substrate (SUI) and an moving particle material (EM) comprising charged particles (PA), a first electrode (RE) and a second electrode (GE; DE), both arranged on the first substrate (SUI) for generating a predominantly in-plane electrical field in the moving particle material (EM), and a driver (DR). The driver (DR) supplies, during a transition phase wherein an optical state of the moving particle material (EM) has to change, a first voltage (VR) to the first electrode (RE), and a second voltage (VG; VD1) to the second electrode (GE; DE). Both the first voltage (VR) and the second voltage (VG; VD1) comprise a sequence of a plurality of predetermined levels having predetermined durations, and wherein the first voltage (VR) and/or the second voltage (VG; VD1) have a non-zero average level. The levels, durations and average level are selected for allowing the particles (PA) to move between the first electrode (RE) and second electrode (GE; DE) in opposite directions to change the optical state a plurality of times in opposite directions during the sequence, and to obtain a net movement of the particles during the transition phase in a direction of an electrical field caused by the average level.

摘要: The invention relates to a method of manufacturing a spin valve structure (1) of the GMR-type. Such a structure includes a stack of a magnetic layer (11a 11b), a nonmagnetic layer (15) and a sense layer (17) of a ferromagnetic material. In order to obtain a spin valve structure having a very good GMR effect the method comprises the following specific steps: oxidation of the ferromagnetic material of the sense layer; deposition of aluminium on the oxidized ferromagnetic material; oxidation of the deposited aluminium using oxygen from the oxidized ferromagnetic material.
