摘要:
Methods of preparing nucleic acid from polysaccharide-containing samples for detection by providing one or more glycosidases to the sample to degrade polysaccharides are provided. The nucleic acids can further be extracted from the sample. The method is particularly useful for detecting nucleic acid in samples with high starch content.

A lid for a sample holder that includes a load port, a first flow channel, and a second flow channel. The first flow channel includes a first end connected to the load port and a second end that opens into a first reservoir of the sample holder. The second flow channel also includes a first end connected to the load port and a second end that opens into a second reservoir of the sample holder.

Methods of determining the presence or amount of a target polynucleotide in a sample are provided. A sample that contains a target polynucleotide, a nucleic acid analog that is complementary to a target nucleic acid sequence of the target polynucleotide, and a dye for which the rate of change in an optical property is different in the presence and absence of a target polynucleotide/nucleic acid analog hybrid are combined to produce a reaction mixture. The rate of change in an optical property of the dye in the reaction mixture is compared to a reference value characteristic of the rate of change in the optical property of the dye in a similar reaction mixture containing a known amount of a polynucleotide/nucleic acid analog hybrid to determine a relative rate of change in the optical property. The relative rate of change in the optical property of dye in the reaction mixture is correlated with the presence or amount of the specified target polynucleotide in the sample.

A shirt, suspenders and pants combination includes common suspenders having two front distal ends, each with means for being attached to the waistline of the pants, and two back distal ends, each with means for being attached to the waistline of the pants. The shirt conceals a majority of the suspenders, and includes a neckline, a tail tucked into the pants, below the waistline, a front side with two front slits, and a backside with two back slits. The front and back slits are positioned below the neckline and are positioned above the waistline of the pants. The suspenders are positioned under the shirt, and the two front distal ends extend through the two front slits and are secured to the waistline through the means provided. The two back distal ends likewise extend through the two back slits and are secured to the waistline through the means provided.
摘要:
The present invention relates to methods for detecting the presence or amount of a target polynucleotide. A polynucleotide, target nucleic acid analog, and dye are combined to form a mixture. The optical property of the dye is observed after the mixture is exposed to a stimulating means. Optionally, after the stimulating means is employed, the mixture is compared to a reference value characteristic of the rate of change in the optical property of the dye in a similar mixture containing a known amount of a target polynucleotide/nucleic acid analog hybrid to determine a relative rate of change in the optical property. The change in a property of the mixture after exposure thereof to a stimulating means or the relative rate of change in the optical property of dye in the mixture is correlated with the presence or amount of the specified target polynucleotide in the sample.

This invention relates to novel chemically-modified nucleic acid molecules having specified formulae that exhibit increased resistance to nucleases and increased binding affinity to target nucleic acid molecules. The invention further relates to methods of modulating gene expression using the novel chemically modified nucleic acid molecules, and compositions and cells comprising said molecules.

Laboratory spatula having stalk regions with a hollow first end and a hollow second end and at manipulating regions may be used for collecting, transporting or storing a material. A manipulating region may be configured as a shovel region, a scoop region, a whisk region, a punch region, a sieve region, a loop region, a cutting edge, a spreading region, a grinding region, a hook region, a scraper region, a tweezer region, a grasper region, or a pick region. The spatula may be lightweight and disposable, and may be any appropriate size including micro size, a regular size, or a macro size. The spatula may also have an anti-stick surface. The spatula may be calibrated, and may include calibration marks or additional features.
